I've cleaned mine with the spray foam upholstery cleaner that comes in a can. Also I've used my bissle green mean machine with carpet shampoo. Since we've moved to a milder climate I haven't had the problem your talking about. Just vacumn and spot clean them now. When we lived in Michigan I started removing them in the winter and using the heavier clear vinyl mats during the winter months.

Dirt!...RoundUp bio degrades in contact with soil. I would dump a bag of compost or peat ( dry of course!!) on the carpet....leave it for about 3 days and brush out. If it doesn't work, what have you to lose? Just some carpet that you would have to remove anyhow. Linda C

There are probably many different reasons why a dog will vomit yellow bile. My dog used to do that occasionally in the morning if I waited too long to feed him. Now I make sure he eats when he wakes up and no more vomit. My son's dog/puppy starting vomiting in the morning - before she ate breakfast. I suggested to my son to feed her a little food before she went to bed each night - and that stopped the vomiting the next morning. If it's frequent, it's best to consult a vet of course. For the stains - I just used a tablespoon of Dawn (has to be Dawn - it works on grease but it's gentle) dish washing soap right on the stain, then swirl with a soft brush. Soak with water on a sponge - really mesh it down and then blot with paper towels. Very sudsy but it worked :)

Call your local fire station for information on disposal of this material (the rules vary by state). The padding should be replaced. However, you can treat the carpet with a few drops of dishwashing liquid mixed with water in a spray bottle. Spritz both sides and scrub well with a stiff brush. Rinse with a hose and let dry in the sun. If not removable, treat with a conventional carpet cleaner. Leave the trunk open for a while to help the gas fumes dissipate.
