I've killed my share over the years. I didn't like it or look forward to it, but it had to be done. No one here said anything about enjoying killing animals. They are rodents that carry diseases and eat my food. I kill them with the same mindset that I set a mousetrap with..I hope it's quick and the animal doesn't suffer, but it has to go. I grow my food because I prefer it to store bought. Gardening is not easy, and rodents make it that much harder. I've had a garden here for almost 30 years and this year is the worst I've ever seen for groundhogs. There seems to be a population explosion ...my neighbors and I have killed at least 10 between us this year, and we are very rural. In years past, maybe I had 1, some years none..but this has been a bad year.

In order to bloom, rhododendrons need several things: 1) Flower buds, if you are pruning them after July 1, you may be pruning off the flower buds. Rhododendrons set buds on new wood soon after the spring bloom finishes. These buds must stay on the plant until the next spring to produce a flower. [no flower buds] 2) Sunshine the previous summer. If they are in shade or you have a summer with mostly cloudy days, bloom will be reduced or nonexistant. We had a very cloudy summer a couple years ago and everyone complained the following spring that their bloom was very poor. Some varieties will bloom in moderate shade, but many varieties need 6 to 8 hours of sun each day to set flower buds. [no flower buds] 3) Very little nitrogen fertilizer. Lawn fertilizer is notorious for having lots of nitrogen and lots of nitrogen forces lots of leaf buds and discourages flower buds. Great if you like a green rhododendron with no flowers. It is best to just use a good rhododendron fertilizer just before bloom in the spring. Apply at half the recommended rate and just once. [no flower buds] 4) You need a plant that produces cold hardy buds that will survive your winters. Every rhododendron has a rating, a temperature that is considered safe for not destroying flower buds over the winter. In Pennsylvania where I live, I choose plants that are hardy to -10F to be save. [flower buds don't open] 5) Seasonal weather is important. This past winter we had some hot spells in the middle of winter and very cold spells in early spring, a bad combination. The warm spells can cause the flower buds to break dormancy, and the cold spells can kill any flower buds that are breaking dormancy. If a bud opens enough so that you can see color, it can be destroyed by freezing conditions. [flower buds don't open fully] 6) Spring rains. A spring drought can cause a rhododendron to stay dormant to conserve moisture and basically abort blooming. Drought also causes some branches to die back, reducing bloom. [no flower buds] 7) Protection from critters. Deer love rhododendron buds. Rabbits and squirrels are often reported to dine on rhododendron flower buds. This varies considerably from region to region depending upon what food sources are available. [no flowers]

Ok, double check your work around the RPM sensor. You may have the motor shaft slid to far forward not allowing the Interuptor cup to fit properly on the shaft. There has got to be something throwing off the Rpm sensor. I can't imagine it would just go bad all of the sudden it is possible I just don't think it is probable. You might try loosening the coupler on the back of the motor shaft and make sure you have all the bushings in the correct spots. You should have a flat washer, a washer that looks bent and a ring that slides over both of those and then the collar. If it is all in place push on the front of the motor shaft opposite the side of the collar. Push it back as far as it will go and hold it there while you tighten the collar back up. Put the interuptor cup back on leave the cover off and watch everthing while you hit your transmitter, see if anything looks out of whack, if not, I would have to say you have a bad Rpm Sensor.

The problem I have is my door wont open at all. Neither the remote nor the wall button will budge it. The wall unit and the overhead opener seem to be communicating, since the lightbulbs are flashing, and turn on and off when told to. The remotes seem to have no affect at all. I replaced the chain onto the sprocket assemby and was adjusting the up and down on the main unit, Unit does nothing now when I press button on wall, is it possible to have adjusted the up/down too much to make unit not operate?Anyone have any ideas why my door won't work at all? I would expect the motor to at least chug or something, but...nuthin! Just flashing lights when i press the wall buttons. Sears Model 139.53975SRT1. HELP!
