I worked in the auto-body and paint trade since 1953. Learned a lot about the equipment what to use, how big, what CFM. I learned that most any compressor will put out 100 lbs, more or less. I learned that for a job of painting anything with a spray gun requires a continuous level of air pressure, while using the spray gun. The air compressor has to put out enough CFM to keep the air line to the spray gun at the pressure that gun needs to atomize the liquid while spraying That said: Yes-you can buy an inexpensive, say 75-125 dollar compressor that advertises it will put out 125 lbs air pressure, but, if the CFM is low, it'll only be good for airing tires, or blowing dust off something. You'll do a lot of waiting for it to catch up on the air pressure, if you are painting anything large. I haven't read what "The air tool guy" Has to say. I'd be willing to bet that his comments may be like mine. I had to leave the trade after they started using isocyanates in the paints. I'd go into wheezing and coughing fits, to where I'd have to stop in the middle of a paint job, and go outside for fresh air. Ya see, the paint companies didn't tell us at first, of the dangers of the new paints that had the isocyanates in them, and that stuff would go right thru the old mask filters. Independents, like the ones I worked for, didn't want to buy the expensive filters, etc. that was required, and it was five years later that we got info on the iso's , and how bad they were for our lungs! TMHO: Rusty Jones( I got so bad-if I stopped at the local gas station, and the paint shop across the street was spraying, I'd have to get my gas someplace else!

With carburetor loose engine run lean and super hot in combustion chamber this heat burn oil around piston rings cause stick then engine burn more oil. 4 oz. seafoam in with engine oil and run for long time like mow acre remove deposits release rings., First run engine burn oil until ring free up then check oil usage next run if stops burning 1/4 quart change out oil with seafoam and partial in oil. The detergent in motor just not amount needed. Instruction are on seafoam can for use engine oil. This post was edited by gator_rider2 on Thu, Aug 14, 14 at 9:52

I attended a seminar on greenhouse management at the local botanical gardens. The best take-away was a solution to handle soft-bodied pests - something I have just used on my 45 year old calamondin - a miniature orange - as well as the key lime, which scale finds particularly inviting. A capful or two of 90% isopropyl alcohol, a couple of drops of Dawn in a 1 qt. sprayer. Swirl (not shake) to mix. I recently brought the calamondin out of its warm, winter home and gave it a good bath with the above mixture. A day later, most of the scale could be hosed off. Indeed, the carcasses of little buggers just smeared when touched.... I've always been hesitant using oils of any type on foliage. Nekkid plants is one thing, but I worry about tender foliage.... Cheers

I have a Craftsman zero turn mower, Kohler 7000 Series, 24hp, 725 cc engine. My problem is...the engine bogs down, sputters some, and backfires when I have the blades engaged. If I sit idly with the blades engaged it does seem to run alright, but when I start moving it slows down like the engine doesn't have the power to run the deck. When disengaging and then re-engaging the blade is backfires. I do use this mower quite a bit, but I keep it maintained. I recently had to replace the carburetor because it was taking carb spray in the air intake to get it to start. so I have: a new carburetor new spark plugs new battery recent oil change new oil filter, and new air filter and also emptied the gas tank to see if there was much gunk and trash in it (there wasn't) Any ideas?
