We finally have sheetrock! (pics inside!)

Finally Finally Finally (especially after we had some copper wire stolen a couple of months ago) we have SHEETROCK!

Below are pics. The funny thing is...out of all of the neat features our house has, my absolute FAVORITE part (right now) is the afterthought...the "secret passageway" my dh decided to include from the space under the basement stairs ("hobbit" room as my builder calls it) to a hidden room adjacent to it. The hidden room was actually supposed to house our HVAC equip and has no windows. All of the HVAC equip couldn't fit in there (we had to separate it) so it left plenty of space for me to have a craft room. So this passageway goes into this room. It has a door out to the basement kitchen but we want to put in one of those "hide-a-door" bookshelf thingies.

The doorways are probably about 2.5 feet high - and each section in the tunnel has a can light in it! I'm sure I'll be losing my kids in there a LOT!

Below the tunnel pics are some pics of the foyer / dining area.

It's finally looking like a house! My kids actually played hide and seek there over the weekend as you can't see through the walls anymore!

How exciting.Looks great .Love everything.The secret passageways are the best.My son has a batcave trough his closet.Thats what kids are interested in all the nooks and crannies they can hide in.Enjoy.

i am so envious!! we are bricking now and they are waiting to sheetrock, because there is a leak that they are having to fix...man, yours is beautiful! it gives me a light to look forward to at the end of our tunnel. what is your estimated closing date? ours was supposed to be for feb 6, but they moved it back to mid-march :-(

Oh those are really nice! I used to have that one but lost it, I love thier fragrance...mine had a nice sweet honeyed smell. They look especially nice as standards.

Wonderful pool! Really like all the waterfalls and how they are incorporated naturally around the pool! The slide is awesome! You have done a fantastic job of incorporating the rocks naturally into your landscaping and pool. Like how the rocks serve as a retaining wall and divider between deckings! In the first photo of your last post, is that steps from rocks on the right? Very creative if it is ! Are you going to paint the lattice like you did the speakers( that I can't tell where they are)? I think painting the lattice would make it blend like the speakers! You didn't ask for MO at all, but that was a thought I had when looking for the speakers!!! Oh, now that's funny! We moved in just over three years ago and the kitchen was way high on the list....we just got cabinets April 2nd! Actually, it was a good thing we waited because we are getting a way better kitchen layout and level of finishes after having lived with the old one for so long! Congrats on the milestone, I feel your pain!

I'm not sure what part of the country you're in, but here in TX my pipes are routed in the attic to at least the master bathroom (they are insulated in the attic), but nonetheless routed there (I could have others routed in the attic, just that is one I'm familiar with). You should be able to tell if there is any pipes nearby by just feeling around. As the previous poster mentioned you could be having a roof leak somewhere else and this is where it ends up. Also in my area the attic is much hotter than the bathroom and if you have pipes routed in the attic that lost their insulation they will likely be sweating in the attic. Yes I would do an exhaust fan and make sure it is vented to the outside (not into the attic). The exhaust fan will pull the air out of the room (if properly sized). The opened skylight only does a partial job at that depending on the wind etc.

HA...gooseegg...ours was SUPPOSED to be Christmas! Now builder is saying end of April but I'm still skeptical.

They were supposed to turn the heat on today but it turns out the gas valve is wrong or something so we can't start mudding yet without the heat (didn't know that) but it really is FREEZING in there - the drywallers were such great sports for working so hard and diligently.

At least you're doing the exterior! That's good! I think you'll still be in before me! We don't have stucco color yet (just scratch coat) or stone. We've had snowstorms every week!

i posted a thread that had my bricking pics, they said today that the sheetrock should be done pretty quick *cough* we will see though!
