Toilet: ADA, Skirted, Elongated, Dual-Flush, 1-Piece
Comments (1)From my research a few months ago, you are correct. That is the only one that meets the criteria. I ended upnot going with it because of price. Here in Canada it runs about $600 or so. I ended up getting a Kohler Persuade. It's elongated, skirted, dual flush. It's not 1 piece but it does have the sanitary dam between the tank and bowl. And as for ADA, it's 1/4" short of meeting the ADA requirements so I figured that was good enough. Cost just over $300 if I remember correctly. So far I haven't had any performance issues. I also considered the Aquia III which was around $650....See MoreShut off valve on 1/2' supply line to toilet
Comments (2)"...just trickling out...." There's your clue. That isn't "pressure" other than gravity acting on what remains in the pipes. Weedmeister is correct. Annoying because it seems to go on forever. When you replace those valves, use 1/4-turn ball-valves. If you use the el-cheapos you just removed you're going round again with frozen valves when you most need to be able to close them. The ball valves cost more but so little more there really isn't any excuse not to buck up and do it right....See MoreWrenching big 2-1/2 inch nut on Kohler toilet tank outlet?
Comments (7)Have you tried channel lock pliers "on end"? Now THAT is ringing a bell! Normal Channel-Locks have too-beefy jaws, but, IIRC a family member has a pair of "tapered" channel-lock type pliers with much thinner than typical jaws... (wish I knew the proper name and orginal purpose, LOL)... pretty sure that's what I used, back when. Either that, or there's this Koozie soda can collar with HARD INSERT I've been eyeballing for possible "DREMEL-ation"... looks about the right diameter... ;') I'm thinking 2" dia. thin-wall PVC w/ 6 equally spaced notches 'round the perimeter would do it too. Patent claim, lol. Wonder if there's a $2 version of what I need at Ye Olde Plumbing Supply Shoppe? PS: I have a basin/faucet wrench--brilliant design, indispensible! Do I understand you need the same thing, but able latch on to a larger diameter collar?...See MoreMove Toilet Out From Wall 1 to 2 inches?
Comments (13)They can reduce the effectiveness of the flush and cause clogs and backups. Imagine a pipe that flows straight down...now put a pair of 45 degree turns in the pipe and you can see how it impacts the flow. That being said, one of our toilets has one (since a previous owner) and has had zero problems....See Moresienna2007
