It must be hard to come from cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter San Diego to Las Vegas. Not only for you but also plants which find our weather, soil and water tough. I don't think astilbes stand a chance here but there are so many plants that actually like it here and would appreciate a little shade from our brutal sun. Salvia coccinea(red) would be a good choice and our Salvia farinacea(blue) hasn't stopped blooming all summer in the shadiest spot in our yard. Our guara lindheimeria(white) has bloomed nonstop despite being swallowed up by that thug Salvia clevlandii. Ruellia(purple) is a nonstop performer that appreciates some shade but it can be quite invasive so if this might be a problem then don't get it. Also a lot of succulents would appreciate some shade even though they don't flower much and would be like bringing San Diego here. Good luck, Maria

Been married for 14 yrs.With 2 kids...my boy is 11 yrs old Cole(boarder coliie/lab mix) and my girl is 4 yr old Mia(retired greyhound).. I was born in the Northwoods of Rhinelander,Wis and lived there for the first 7 yrs of my life and the rest of the time I lived in IL. My dream is to move to a 2 acre piece of land in the mountains and build a log cabin to live in. I want to be able to have a garden and maybe a few chickens and a horse..But still be able to enjoy plenty of wildlife(like deer,moose,ect) and maybe have a small lake nearby where I can hear the calls of the Common Loons.. I do not hunt but have lot of family that do..I would not beopposed to trying it..I do love to target practice with my vary of guns and love going to the local gun shows when posssible..As for other outdoor activities camping and fishing are enjoyable things for me. My husband is not like me at all..he's a modern techy..and couch potatoe.. So I would like to meet ladies with the same interest as myself. As for my career--as of right now I am unemployed..But am am registered Pharmacy Technician..so looking for a job in that field for now...my dream career would be owning a used bookshop in a small town. if you get the opportunity, go to the glass and bead show in las vegas this year...its usually first weekend in april at southpoint hotel.. there are usually a couple vendors there based in vegas and they are pretty free with info on whats available in classes, supplies, etc.

Sadly no not familiar with the NASCAR test track in Vegas. But I do know someone who has driven on the BMW track in South Carolina and he had an absolute blast. It was also his b'day gift from his wife. I'm wondering if it is similar except from our friend's description, the BMW track is not a typical racing oval, but more like a cross country course. I am probably not using the correct terminology.
