Aggie....get thee to a "bra shop"...do not be put off by the red satin and the feather trimmed Teddies....but they are called a bra shop for a reason.
Another thing is look for some place that displays the breast cancer pink ribbon...they will likely be medicare suppliers for those needing "special garments"...
Don't you hate the term "garment"? I remember the days when a panty girdle was called a foundation garment...
Amazing to some I am sure that anyone wore a panty girdle!! LOL!

I hadn't thought of a bra shop, I'll check the phone book and see if we have such a thing. Every now and then, one of the department stores will have an ad about their special fitter is coming to town. You gotta have an appointment.

Yeah, I remember panty girdles. I didn't have any hips to speak of so garter belts almost slid off. That left me with a choice of panty girdles or those horrid rolled garters that cut off the circulation. Had to have hose to wear to work, you know. No bare legs allowed. There was great rejoicing when panty hose were invented.

I have no great advice. I know our local upscale department stores also have "fitting" days. Unfortunately, they only happen a few times each year. If you can't find a good undergarment store, perhaps you could call your department stores to ask when the next special "fitting" day is scheduled. Linda's advice about looking for a shop that specializes in undergarments for breast cancer survivors sounds good too.

It's not an unusual request. Our local paper, The Sacramento Bee, runs columns frequently about bra fitting. Too bad we can't do what my grandmother from Greece used to do. She just wore an undershirt. No support whatsoever. No bra, a bun twisted at her neck, a dark colored shirtwaist dress, cotton hose, and orthopedic shoes. To me, she was beautiful! But I don't think I could get away with it today.

Don't mind me, I'm just rambling...like I don't have anything better to do! haha

Auck! I HATE bras! I'm sorry I can't offer any advice here for what you want/need. Personally I feel very uncomfortable and confined while wearing a bra.
I've always heard that you must support yourself with a bra...to 'prevent' sagging, or whatever else 'they' want to tell you. Of course, one was considered a 'bad girl' way back then if you did not wear a bra. Maybe it's STILL that way today - I donno...

(Oh! BTW - Have you always worn a bra? If so, did it help to prevent sagging? I'm curious if the myth holds true!)

Unfortunately (?-lol), I don't have that problem of big boobies sagging...I have little boobies sagging down to my waist :~)

Many years ago my Mother was in hospital for some reason & she asked me to go buy her a bra...a certain underwire "Ahh-Bra" from ~Sears~. Well, heck...I didn't know nothing. It took me a couple hours probably to find 'the exact match', but I found it, (I think?)
I later went back and tried some for myself, and I started buying these for myself.
They were great while they lasted. Many years later, I needed to have a breast biopsy & was told I need to have a tight or "snug" fitting bra. Well, since I had been only using bras for work and ripping them off first chance I had (which was usually in car on way home from work LOL!), I went shopping. Took HOURS to find one that 'worked'. So many choices - so much time trying them on in dressing room. The ol' 'Ahh-Bras' were at various stores by now - not just Sears...
Of course like everything else, the 'new improved' were out for purchase. The old trusty not to be found. (I had lost a lot of weight within a year, thus my boobies shrunk too)

What I found to be most insane...even tho the bra fit great, they started using a different THREAD stitching - like nylon or something! So, that 'plastic' thing was jabbing me in the back and everywhere...VERY uncomfortable.

Well, I hate shopping for clothes. I hate trying on clothes. Haha - I am SO low maintenance!

So I have a question for all: Is there REALLY evidence of any bad 'complications' of NOT wearing a bra?

No 'advice', but: Why don't we all just "let 'em sag naturally"? Or, maybe it's time for suspenders? lol.

Oh, yeah...it's true. They sag. The ligament that holds them up is called (I think) Coopers Ligament. Once it is stretched, it doesn't regain it's shape. Thus, the weight of the boob gradually stretches it. And Down and Down they go.

I used to work in an OB-GYN practice. It was during the hippy era. The young women rejoiced in throwing out the #&*$%^ bras, while their mothers were horrified! After a few years, the one of the doctors mentioned that the moms, who had worn well fitting bras from early teen years, had nicer, and less saggy, looking boobs than their daugthers did.

I think my grandmother wore some kind of a vest. Her slips fit around the middle, but the top was full, and sort of formed pockets for the dangle.

Anyway, I am going to investigate what's available now. There simply MUST be something. They don't make the straps long enough either.
