Need help with Identification of Marked Porcelain

I am in need of help with the mark on the bottom of some porcelain that i bought at an estate sale. It is a shield with a R/S and below it is the words hand painted. Thanks for any help. Below is the pic url.

I can't see the marks as the picture appears blurry.
R.S appeared on many pieces of porcelain of "German" origin...and bavarian and Prussian etc.
Those pieces were made at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th....they were fine quality!!!
The R. S. stands for Reinholdt Schliegelmilch ( check spelling!!)
The looks of your pieces are consistant with the appearance or the RS Germany, Bavaria look....not as fine as the Prussian ware.
I would really like to see a better picture of the back stamp....but it's a very lovely set...undoubtedly German/Prussian/Auistrian/Bavarian. Clearly late 19th century. Amd most likely from the Reinholdt Schleigelmilch factories.

Part of the resources people use when identifying an antique is the total design of the piece which gives an idea or the period and narrows the search. Is there anything more to the mark that just that figure and the words silver plate? and what is the pattern, which would help zero in on the time period. Linda C

My Nippon book has marks in it from page 74-98 not included. Looked at fake marks & not there either. Maybe your mark hadn't been found yet. It looks like it might be earlier mark as 1 flower used & mountain in my book. Later used more "M" mark. There were several different companies that made it. Might help identify it if we could see the item.

Well Arapaho, normally the BKF cleans it right off. But anyway...I think I have a winner or as I said in my head as it worked like magic "WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!" HEEHEE! The winner is: Colgate baking soda and peroxide whitening toothpaste! If you have any plain white polishing toothpaste, give that I try. I was very surprised at how well and easily the black mark came off. I have used toothpaste to polish other things before so I thought I'd try it. I have tried today: goo gone, wd40, dawn, acetone..I think that's it that did not work at all. The silver polish did work but not as well as the toothpaste.
