Will I find a standard double sink 48" vanity?

We are looking to do a simple update of our master bath, which currently has a double sink vanity that's only 48" wide. Yes the sinks are small but we need the double sinks.
We aren't looking to spend tons of money. Do folks know if it will be hard to find standard vanities that can accommodate 2 sinks of this size?
One place we talked to suggested we install 2 24" single vanities side by side and the seam would not be noticeable. Thoughts on this?

I have seen numerous ready-made 48" vanities with two sinks.

That's a pretty smart idea- putting two 24" vanities together. That might give you more of a selection of styles, but the plumbing might be kind of difficult. The tops would have a seam as well if they were ready-made.

You can also build your own from ready-made pieces. If you have 24" depth, you can buy a cabinet base and top it with tile or marble or whatever you like and install two sinks. If you only have 20" depth your options are more limited. What style are you looking for? Perhaps someone will run across one you might like and post it here.

If you can go 50 inches, or 52 inches, you can use a 48 inch base cabinet and have a bit of overhang on the top for more counter space.

There's not enough room for two people to use two sinks in only 48". If two people can't use it, there's zero point in doing it. The smallest centerline distance between two lavatories should be 36". That translates to the smallest double sink vanity that you will be able to find is 60".

Thanks for your response. Actually we currently have a double sink vanity that's only 48" and it works just fine for us. Yes, it would be nice to have more counter space, but would rather have the 2 sinks.

Many larger vanities are not standard size. I wouldn't worry about trying to find a ready-made 86" vanity. An 84" vanity will look perfectly fine. Plumbing should not be a problem unless the existing plumbing and sink placement is weird. Usually, in this situation, one has adequate leeway: drains are easily offset if needed and the faucets are connected via flexible supply lines. A few simple measurements will tell you if there is any issue with under-sink clearance or lateral placement of the plumbing. But this would be something you would need to check out with any vanity that is not custom built for your space, even if you found an 86" one.

For truly cold floors, consider an easier to clean gel mat beside bathtub or shower and/or vanity rather than a rug -- you can always keep smaller water absorbent resistant rugs on had for when your actually need water absorbed. Keeping a gel mat clean means wiping it off and the small rugs can be more easily washed as needed -- needed less often if not always on the floor. We might recommend doing two small rectangular mirrors, but you wouldn't be able to do sconces. If you do one big rectangular mirror it could work too. @ptsuruda It was $1850 when I bought it, but it looks like they've raised their price to $2000. Still not a bad deal considering it includes shipping, you can have them design it exactly to spec, and they use walnut plywood, which is not cheap. https://www.etsy.com/listing/881307908/bathroom-vanity-cabinet-mid-century It did not include the top. I bought a marble top for $900 installed with sinks. You might end up paying more for quartz since it's a synthetic material. Best thing you can do is go to different stone shops and get quotes-- they vary widely. "Kitchen and Bath" stores will charge way more and will just go to a stone shop themselves, so avoid those.

Yes there are a number of 48" double vanities. Try overstock, or if you like the styles (more modern), Ikea has double sink tops as narrow as 40".

Thanks all. I think we are looking to do a white vanity, pretty simple, but one that has closed storage (not open). Probably want to do a marble top, but haven't decided if the maintenance is worth it.
The place that suggests putting 2 24" vanities said that they would do a custom countertop, so there wouldn't be a seam on the countertop.

Further to what hosenemesis said, there are a lot of places that sell stock 48" tops with double sinks, but you'd get the easiest correct fit with your plan to have the vanity place do the countertop for you.

For those who are still searching, like myself, and have found only ultra-modern 48" double vanities and don't particularly like them... Home Depot offers a 48" vanity base in white or Espresso that is made to have a double sink top on it. But the top would have to be custom made. I really like it. Hi greystonerehabbers. Did you end up getting this vanity? It looks like it has since been discontinued, but I read somewhere that it was designed for a single sink. Were you able to still make it work? I ask because I am looking at a couple similar styles that are designed for single sinks, but don't come with a top, so I am hoping to get something custom made to fit 2 sinks. Thanks!
