Hi Carolyn, I live close to Dallas. Agnespuffin, your right about dad being tired but on the other hand he doesn't really want to die either. I know if he had his way he'd just go to sleep and not wake up. Him and death don't get along he takes it very hard when he looses a loved one. He couldn't stand to go to his brothers funeral and I didn't press him to go cause his health wasn't good back then. He's has been up and down so much in the past 33 months it's getting the best of him and having depression anyway just makes it worse. Dad's famous words are I've never had it so bad or this is the worse it's ever been. As for thinking of good thought's today I thought of the times we rode horses when I was young, that was our time together. If I didn't have a horse or pony he'd take me to the local horse barn and rent a horse for a few hours for me. I did some gardening today it helped take my mind off my troubles for a while. The front and back yard is a mess right now. Funny how it can go to pot so fast. I have 3 potted Ivy's on the front porch and I noticed some wasn't looking good so I checked it out, in the smaller pot something had bit every stem off so now there is nothing left in that pot. Don't know what would do that. I can't wait for the meeting tomorrow I hope to have a some answers to mt questions of how they can help dad. Right now it feels more like I've had to give up a pet to someone I don't know and don't know just how they're going to take care of his needs other than the basics. I was reading online that there is no real test for dementia and one doctor calls it simply aging brain. The doctor thinks that by staying active by going out having friends to do things with, reading, hobbies helps keep the brian active enough to keep you from falling into the aging brain. If this is the case my dad falls right into the aging brain , Dad lost 2 of his friends 20 years ago and from then on he never found any other friends. He does not read for fun just what he needs to, he does like watching old shows, moives and things on WW2. He also likes watching the news. I could tell when I went over to his house he was so glad to have someone to talk to after being alone for 2 days. He said he use to go and park in the store parking lot just to have people around. Copy of my post on the other side of the forum.....again, this really is a great group of friends and people that I'm glad to know and actually have had the pleasure of spending some good times in person. Thank y'all so very much for checking in on me and my family/group. I've been out of town working and just got home a hour or so ago. Debi, my sis did text me that Ann had called this morning checking in....I remember you calling years ago for some swap info for the riverrat. : ) It's good to know you have friends from around the world thinking about you and your family and friends. We do have some in our circle of friends and employees that have been affected by this. Thankfully everyone is alive and well minus the damage and or loss of homes. My thoughts and prayers are there for everyone in the damaged areas over the last several days. Sally, I hope you hear from your missing family member soon and I'm happy to hear the rest of the family is okay for the most part. Peppi, thanks for the post and concern my friend, and Ann for the phone calls. This forum and it's members are the best. I will reply to all of the emails in the next day or two and REALLY appreciate all of them and your concern. I really miss being here as of late but we have had some major family issues and concerns that have taken up much of my/our time and life in general. Thanks again all y'all!!! Thank you all for the check-ins! It sounds like most of you are able to stay reasonably cool, more or less, in the house. Wanttoretire, sounds like the whole east coast is getting it bad. Any forecast of it cooling down at all? I don't think I knew anybody growing up who had A/C in the car. Riding in the back seat to our little family car with my two brothers and sister was horrible on those many hot days in central CA! Jay/mushcreek, yikes! That does sound depressing! I do remember you talking about your super insulation when you were building the house. The Hardi board is pretty solid insulation in and of itself, IIRC. Glad to hear about the mini split, since I'm planning to do that. llucy, glad to hear you're cool by comparison, lol! I remember being in Daytona for a race back around 1997, and it was over 90 and pouring, torrential rain! I'd never experienced that. Cooper, my brother lives in New Mexico, is a geochemist at the nuclear power plant. When they moved there a couple of years ago, they bought a house without a pool, thinking they'd put one in later. Never got around to it. So a few weeks ago a house came up for sale just around the corner from them. Pool included. So they bought it, quick close, and are now enjoying the pool, haha! Chris/Shades, again, good to hear about the mini split! My power bill was $59 last month, but I'm sure it will be more this month, because I've been running the window A/C and the fans more. Lass, yep, me too with the rain yesterday. I'm in Cheney. I was in Spokane Valley, and now from Cheney it's about 45 minutes to Post Falls, ID. So we're fairly close to each other. Today was lovely! Steph, so great to hear from you! I'm glad you're OK. I do the same thing, both to save gas, which seems to be going up daily here, and to avoid going out in the heat, which isn't heat at all compared to 110 in AZ! But I try to do all my errands in one or two days out of the week, I only grocery shop once a week on one of those days, then I can stay home, mostly inside, for a few days. Since I work from home, it also helps me stay on schedule. Hope everything's OK with the CT scan! murraysmom, I don't blame the dogs, haha! Sounds like things are under control with the A/C and the fans. Wow, I've never seen that iPhone message either! It must have been really, really hot. Good thing it didn't melt! I guess the watchword of the day is "stay cool!" :-)

Cory emailed me today and she is fine, but she is having trouble posting. She says the posts disappear. She said her trees are fine but that she had to hack them back to be able to bring them in for winter. However, she is happy to be pest-free thus far. Hopefully she will be able to chime in soon.
