anyone with sharp microwave drawer, please help.
Comments (2)They really need the 23 1/2" in depth, I'm sorry to say. We have had a few instances where customers tried to install them in shallow cabinet banks and islands and they won't go in because they are pretty close to that depth....See Moreplease advise me on microwave replacement
Comments (2)I'll put in a word for Panasonic's "inverter" technology. I've had one of their microwaves for a while now, and I have to say it does a much better job than the ol' RadarRange (to be expected) or even the Samsung I was using for a while. Defrosting is very even and cooking (even sensor cooking) is quite thorough, because instead of cooking at half-power by switching the full-strength magnetron on and off half the time, it actually operates the magnetron at half-power. It's also more energy-efficient that comparable microwaves when measuring cooking power versus wall-outlet consumption. Sure, that's not a huge saving, but if you're going to buy a new one, why not buy a new efficient one?...See MoreTalk to me about your convection microwave please!
Comments (30)dodge59.....well, after a day of shopping for appliances and other house-related things, we're now back to the Advantium. The sales person, whom we really trust, says he doesn't know where all the bad reviews are coming from with the Advantiums (the 120 model though). I know maybe that's just 'sales-speak', but the people I know who have them really love them and haven't had any trouble with them. The sales person said he has yet to have one of his customers complain about the Advantium. He just got the 120 model himself and told me all the things he's cooking in it. So.....my head is spinning from changing my mind so much. But I think we're back to the Advantium. However, I'm really grateful for the discussion about convection/microwaves. I didn't really know about them before, and it would be a wonderful thing to take with us in our RV when we hit the road for several months at a time. wrighthouse.....we looked all over town for a Panasonic or Sharp. I wanted to see it in person. Couldn't find one. Anyway, it sounds like a wonderful appliance, and you'll have to report back after you've used yours for awhile. Thanks for your input! ideagirl2..... You make me feel better. I do stuff like that all the time. :-) Thanks!...See MorePlease look at my layout and tell me where to put microwave
Comments (4)I can't read your diagram well enough to suggest a place, but that $64,000 question is part of what led us to replacing the cabinets (better layout, but still no good place for the microwave) and ultimately to chose a drawer microwave. We put ours between the cooktop and the table. It is close to where we cook and bake, but also close to the table, where we carry some of the heated food. Some folks suggest putting the micro near the fridge, but I would focus on where the heated things are used. That seems easier for carrying and for traffic patterns. With that in mind, look for a 24" drawer stack and put it in the upper half. Again, I can't read your diagram well enough to tell, but if that is your fridge on the right and in the corner, it looks like you have a filler, but if you give yourself a bit more room there and use a pullout or put in shelves, you can make use of the space What do you see going on in the right and lower half of this kitchen? Other than a fridge that is somewhat obscured, it strikes me as potentially under utilized space. I'd like to see you explore some layout options that might give you better use of this large space....See Morejoeboldt
