falling out eyelash

what causes eyelash to fall out - i use eye curler - is it the curler or the mascara - i use maybelline products - my lashes use to full now very thin

Eye lash curlers can do it.Because they basicly PULL on the lashes and cuz them to fall out.Just like if you pulled the hair on your head everyday,eventually it would fall out.
Also,wearing waterproof mascara ALL THE TIME can do it too.

Hair thins as we get older and that includes eyelashes.

Is the problem severe? It could be a medical condidtion that can be treated. Have it checked out.

Mascara and eyelash curlers are not a good idea to use either.

false eyelashes: get the cluster ones or the individual ones. use tweezers and put a dab of lash glue on your left hand. pick up lashes with tweezers, dip into lash glue on very edge and nestle lashes into your lashline, on your real lashes. continue on from middle to both sides. let it set up, then dip a lash liner brush into dark power liner or shadow and make a think line over the lashes, careful to cover any glue that might be showing. they make an eyelash remover, but you can also use warm water and let them fall off in the shower. definitely don't leave them on overnight (I have and it hurts).

I have always used an eyelash curler, and I've used falsies. Mine is just a Revlon brand and I think it needs to be replaced, I've had it several years now. I'm of Italian descent, and I have a lot of thick dark lashes, and when I don't wear mascara people will ask what brand I use, so I can get away with not using it at all. But on a regular basis I usually don't leave the house without mineral make up foundation, mascara and lip-gloss. It just makes me feel more put together. (just like a matching bra and panties- but that's a whole different topic-lol) I have a friend who is blonde, and she had the falsies put on professionally, well when they finally started falling off, they took her blonde lashes with them, so she has no lashes at the moment! Beware of falsies!

I use latisse. I get a prescription from my dermatologist. It works but it is dreadfully expensive. Maybe about $150 for 2 or 3 months supply. The other downside is you have to use it every single night and cannot skip it when you just want to fall into bed. At least I follow the directions to do this as I am scared to waste this much money and not follow directions. You can also use it on sparse eyebrows so after I apply to my lashes I take the still wet brush and mush it on my brows. Takes 5 or 6 weeks to see results. I wonder if there is a cheaper, faster way albeit safe for the eyes. I recently had a spontaneous, yes, non traumatic corneal gouge(abrasion), right in the central part of the cornea.

@Chi83 i don't get acne from philosophy purity now but when i first started using it i did but kept using it since i had bought a big 32oz lol. 9 yrs ago i started using it because of the reviews too, i have oily skin and could barely stand to use a cream cleanser but it really works well for me now. make sure you rinse alot. this spring i got a clarisonic and that has made a tremendous difference in my skin's clarity, smoothness and firmness! sounds like a commercial but i can't live w/o it now. i use alot of their facial products along w/ most of the body and scent ones. back to the eyelashes, i was tempted to try latisse, even thou i don' really need it, i was hoping for darkening and using no mascara. the eye color warning changed my mind, i admit. i have green-hazel eyes and don't want brown-hazel. my friends already has brown eyes and saw no changes in eye color or under eye color. ~ liz

the curler definately puts strain on your lashes...and most of the lengthening, plumping, volumizing, and particularly the waterproof mascaras...well, would you use that stuff on your HAIR? really? on a daily basis?

keeping them curled and mascara'd, it's entirely possible that you've lost all perspective on what your 'natural' lashes looked like before you started the daily regimen of two coats of 'lash attack'.

the only way to know, really - is to go cold turkey. maybe for New Year's. maybe a lash 'tint' if you're particularly fair, but try it for a month, and you will do yourself two favors - you will give your lashes a chance to catch up with their growth cycle, and give YOU a chance to reaquaint yourself with what your eyes actually look like.

take before and after pictures - the camera has a much better memory than your naked eyes.
