Which body wash keeps your skin soft throughout the dry winter?

I don't use a body wash per se so I think I'll leave that part to the ladies. I do, however, get dreadfully dry skin in the winter. To remedy that, I just slap on the 'ol baby oil before I dress and it keeps my skin soft, smooth and hydrated all day - and well into the night...which isn't a bad thing when the wife wants to get all cuddly. :)

I really like the new Dove exfoliating body wash because it leave my skin feeling great, also I like the Dove exfoliating bar soap. After I shower and after a quick dry so there is still some moisture on my skin I spritz L'oreal HydraFresh all over and it absorbs really well and keeps my skin soft all day and it has a nice scent also. Its a lot quicker then a regular lotion and very light not greasy at all.

Could be one of many things. But a couple of easy things to check to get things rolling: 1) Remove the body spray heads. They should be threaded on to a short nipple, a couple of inches long. One end of the nipple threads into the spray head, the other end of the nipple threads into a union in the wall. Check for grit or solder bits inside the head. Clean any mineral deposits away. While the body spray heads are off, may as well check the flow of the plumbing behind the walls. If the nipple came out of the wall union when you took the spray head off the wall, remove the nipple from the body spray head and thread it back into the union inside the wall. Turn the water on and see how well water flows out of the nipples. Hot, cold, medium temp. 2) Your valve versus her valve. You could remove your shower head and her shower head. Unthread them from their respective shower arms. Run your valve wide open, see how many seconds it takes for the flow out of the shower arm to fill up a drywall bucket. Or any bucket. Repeat with her setup. If her's is slower, it could be a problem with her valve. Could be debris. Sometimes it's a partially closed stop. I never figured out how stops move, but sometimes they do. If your valve has stops, remove the valve trim and exercise the stops. Open them, close them, then obviously leave them open. A starting point. Have fun!

Neutregena and Dove have liquid bath that is not drying. Oil of Olay is also good and non-drying. Wal-Mart Equate brand is good. I use Dove, Neutregena or Oil of Olay in cold weather and Equate in the summer. Dove has liquid soap with grains in it that you might like. My D-I-L had some and I used it by mistake and was surprised it had grains in it. I have not tried it since. Not sure what it was called. I use the regular Dove. I use the nylon net bath scrubbies, works great for most of the body. The liquid really foams up. Works on a washcloth also but does not foam as much. In case you are interested, the Equate hand liquid works well and does not leave hands slick feeling like some of the other brands. I hate trying to rinse the slick feeling off.

Hope I can get some! There are quite a few I buy on there. Usually we get the Smart Source or P&G.

Look for hotel supply places that sell internationally. It is more common elsewhere that hotel rooms put the complimentary shampoo and body wash in wall dispensers in the shower rather than supplying those dinky little plastic bottles of the stuff. Less waste and less stuff going into landfills. http://www.guestsupply.com/catalog.aspx?id=cff1b722-e7be-45b2-8d3e-91392a36f175&mc=5&sc=09&search=0 http://www.soap.co.za/dispensers/dispensers.htm A lot of places sell in the half gallon size for body wash like the Aveda Rosemary mint body wash: http://www.aveda.com/templates/products2/ spp.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY10601&PRODUCT_ID=PROD5904 Here is a few gallon size body wash in some nice scents: http://www.instawares.com/entiere-jaboncillo-body-wash.wcs-201.0.7.htm#gallery Here is a link that might be useful: Wall Mounted Shampoo Dispenser

I use Dove "regular" and don't have dry skin issues.

Jenny, what is in the HydraFresh? Oil? My husband is the one with issues and this might be good for him.

Love baby oil, too. Last step of my shower is to slather it on, then I towel dry it off. Been doing that since I was 7, because my parents insisted we lotion up after showering and it saved time for me to do it right in the shower. Glad I did it because today (years later) massage therapists have remarked on how smooth my skin is.

Weed HydraFresh is a spray on lotion its made by L'oreal and comes in a green bottle and is part of the Body Expertise line. I don't believe there is any oil in it and none of the ingredients sounds like oils! The back of the bottle says...

Enriched with vitamins E and B5, HYDRAFRESH spray enables your skin to maintain a lasting natural level of hydration.

Infused with vitamin C HYDRAFRESH invigorates your skin

From the first application, your skin is refreshed and moisturized for 24 hours

I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions about it! I use the Dove exfoliating body wash or bar soap every day or the Body Expertise body scrub about once a week and always follow with this lotion and it has worked great in preventing dry skin from ever happening.

The Shi Kai brand (at health food stores or Whole Foods Market) and Oil of Olay's "Complete" Body Wash are the best moisturizing shower gels.

JennyIL, I got some of the Hydrafresh today. There was a deal at Walgreens, buy the Hydrafresh and get a free bottle of lotion from that line. Seems pretty good and easy to use!

Jenny, I like it! I jinxed myself by posting at all, and suddenly my back was itchy and dry. I spritzed some on after my shower -- very nice. Thanks for the tip!
