Narrow Shoes in Boston

Hi,

I'm from the gardening forum, but...am searching for women's narrow shoes in the greater Boston area. I wear an AA or AAA and have found it harder and harder over the past several years to find shoes. They either cost $200 or are so "sensible" that I hate them! If you know of stores or online sources that sell narrow widths I'd love to hear about it. (With luck, I'd like to find flat/low heel/leather. Don't need super casual or super dress up.) Thanks!

Naturalizer.com has lots of great shoes....I wear a 7.5 AA..
I wear their low heeled dress shoes, as well as the "millenium" tie up oxford for walking and shopping, etc..
another favorite brand is Trotters...

Stringy Boston Ferns
Q

In the late Spring through Fall I keep the Boston Ferns on the front porch that faces east. I probably could put a couple of them in front of the front porch window and might try that next year. They stringy frons are not unappealing, just as long as the entire plant is not stringy. I have brought the ferns in before and by the end of the winter I have lost interest in keeping them watered and fed but this year I have made a consistent effort and it has paid off as most all of the original frons are still intact and actually got "greener" when I brought them in. They were getting a bit "yellow" in the late Fall. Here is a picture of them while on the front porch. They really do well in this area. http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj270/ArkyGardener/091607Mums.jpg

Hi Would be careful with creeping fig it grows AND GROWS LOL. it will cover every square inch and almost impossible to remove . Boston Ivy might be a better choice for that reason Some of the variagated or fancy leaf types are far less aggresive AND more interesting ?? I wouldn't grow either anywhere near a wooden house. gary

Gardening Shoes for Narrow Feet

Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions. The Ked's slip on does come in narrow and is what I have been wearing for years. However, I now develop very painful knots like stone bruises when I use a shovel wearing them. I am going to have to go to a more heavy duty sole. Neither the Trekkers nor the Ladybug Clogs come in a narrow (A) width. The clogs do come in a B width and there is a Tractor Supply nearby so I am going to check that out tomorrow and see if they could possibly work. If not, the Trekkers will be the next thing to try.

Best suppliers of US-quarried stone in the Boston area?
Q
Comments (0)
I'm updating the countertops in my kitchen, and I'm looking for US-quarried stone (for environmental and working conditions-related reasons). I'm still narrowing down our overall look and would like to see slabs of Danby Cream marble, US Soapstone and US granite-- e.g. Jet Mist, Virginia Mist or American Mist. Canadian is fine too. I've found a few suppliers in the Boston area who carry stone from the US and Canada (Marble & Granite, Inc, Daltile Stone Center and Boston Granite Exchange), but I'm wondering if anyone has experience looking for these stones in the Boston area, and if so, whether there are specific suppliers you would recommend. Thank you!

Double-A here. All the women in the family have narrow feet. We do mail order and online. Almost hate to tell you 'bout my fav site - you might get to the shoe first! We love QBOutlet.com. Masseys catalog is another great source - do a search on Masseys shoes, I think there's a website. Auditions catalog has narrow widths, too.

Monroe shoes carry narrow. Dahers in Andover sells them, as do other stores.
New Balance sneaker outlets carry narrow sneakers, and some European shoes.

I've had good luck here. If they don't fit or you don't like them, the store pays for the return.

A good samaritan with narrow feet named Maxine alerted me to a company that carries sandals in narrow and can also custom make them. Very reasonable prices. Sounds good with 18" of snow, must be time to order, lol!
