The Camel Plates! One of my great aunts had those, and I loved them. I never knew what they were, but we always ate off the "camel plates" when we had lunch with her.

Post a picture of the turene and the bowl....and the marks. Does it have the old British registry mark? Does it say "Royal Doulton"? or Doulton Lambeth? The :royal was not added until after 1902 when the doulton firm wqas granted that right. As to the marks on the back...some may be pattern marks, some may be the mark of the person who did some decorating and occasionally a Doulton piece was made for a particular store....and marked for them as well. I'm curious too. My sons were born in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada in 1975 and 1977 and were given bunnykins items by British co-workers because "it's traditional." We never used them, just carried them from place to place following the refinery construction jobs.
