OK.....Almost There. Please Help!

Posted this on Kitchen Forum in error so I am repeating here.

I have narrowed down my appliance choices to the following:

Microwave: OTR GE Advantium 120

Dishwasher: Miele (lowest model with China cycle)

Refrigerator: Electrolux SS CD FD without ice & water in door

Range: PLEASE HELP. Would like to make final decision so I can place orders. Have narrowed it down to the following 4 SS slide ins:

-- Electrolux Electric (like the overall look & will match refrigerator but not unsure about metal trim on cooktop)

-- Electrolux Induction (Induction a big plus & will match refrigerator but concerned about metal trim on cooktop)

-- Kenmore Induction (like that it doesn't seem to have metal trim on cooktop that Electrolux has)

-- GE Profile (I like that it has porcelain racks & a full glass top without metal trim)

I would certainly put quality and function over look in making a decision.

What concerns you about the metal trim on the Electrolux? I'm about " " that far away from pulling the trigger on the Electrolux Induction.

I was a little concerns about a report of someone with an Electrolux Induction cooktop with a similar metal trim having a problem with leaking under the trim. This weekend I found a cooktop and tried to slide a piece of paper under the trim but it wouldn't go. Appears there is a gasket here. I'd assume the induction range is the same way.

I do like the Electolux a lot and I am definitely getting the Electrolux refrigerator which will match it. I'm really not sure if the trim bothers me or not. I generally like a cleaner look and I am not sure if the trim will catch crumbs (and leaks), whether I won't like having to reach over it (I'm short), etc. The Kenmore slide in induction is made by Electrolux and doesn't have trim on the cook top. I am going to Sears to take a look at it before I make a final decision. If I don't like it better I will order the Electrolux and then go out and buy new pots and pans!

Thanks beeguy. Apparently the bee lady I got them from said that they are bearding. I think the bees are too close together and are drifting into the other hives overcrowding them. I will tell you what I know. I bought three established hives. Still don't know what a hive body is even though I stayed up til 1am reading everytying I could. I do know they are in just one box with no supers on it yet. The box looks to be about one foot wide by 18 inches long(just eyeballing it). I bought supers for the top and each has ten racks inside. I fed them 1/1 sugar syrup and half protein powder. Don't know about foundation or combs. Air flow looks good, but they face west and receive afternoon sun. Don't know about screened bottom boards yet either, but will when I open them up. I didn't actually pick them up an in-law did and I didn't get any introductory class. They were delivered and just put somewhere that was convenient at the time. So I have to learn as quickly as possible and read all night. Right now I am just trying to find the right place to put them. Any suggestions? Can they stay in full shade all day? I have 2.5 heavily wooded acres with a small creek through it and a house. Everywhere else are trees. Thanks for the tip on moving them. I asked the inlaw and he didn't get it. He thought you move them away to keep a split hive from returning, but apparently there is more to it than that. I am going to try the stick or grass thing. Thanks for you help.

We are also picking appliances now and made some similar choices. We will get the GE OTR advantium 120 MW, the Samsung counter depth french door fridge, and I have ordered the Electrolux induction range. We have settled on a Kitchenaid DW, one of the ones with the 3rd cutlery rack, but not sure which one. I LOVE the look of the Electrolux slide-in ranges, and I really want induction. Our pans are over 20 years old, so they are pretty much due for replacement anyway. I agree with the trim on the Electrolux, though. I haven't heard this for sure, but it certainly looks like crumbs will collect and get stuck there. I figure that it will be SO much easier to clean the induction top that I am willing to fight with the crumbs (of course I am replacing an old coil electric stove!). I think any of those slide-in choices are fine. I also considered the Kenmore and GE induction ranges, and while I would have been happy with any of them, I was really excited when the Electrolux induction was announced. I'm hoping that it doesn't have lots of bugs (being so new), but it probably will... It might just be me, but I think the Kenmore's have this weird greenish translucent looking film on the glass door front. It would really bug me as our range is very visible in our kitchen. I know the Kenmore's are made by Electrolux, but this seems to be only on the Kenmore doors. You might see what I mean if you can see the Kenmore next to another brand at a store, especially from a bit of a distance (say 10 feet). But any of them are great choices that I'm sure you will be thrilled with. Good luck!

I'm going to link you to several color white palettes that might works with grays and light blues though blues are the most difficult color to get right. Below the sample it will show you coordinating colors, similar colors and most important "more shades" which indicate the undertone. You would need to take it from there. On the ground floor I would suggest going with a white that show various undertones as the mid-range colors don't seem to be working for you. On the links, if you see greens in "more shades" the white chosen will likely look like a gray-green. And will coordinate with greens. Etc. I don't know the light in your house, the various exposures, or even the latitude -- where you live makes a huge difference. That's why it's difficult to suggest specific colors I find. F.ex., that Oat Straw color in my house would look like mustard exploded all over the walls and a blue like Exhale gets psychedelic around 4 in the afternoon with west facing windows. The Aloe looks fine. Leaves die back from the bottom naturally. They like as much sun as you can give them. It looks like there is pumice in your mix. As long as the pot has a hole in the bottom and the soil is not peaty it looks good. If there is no hole in pot you might want to check the roots. Don't worry about disturbing the plant. Aloes are very resilient.

Results of my trip to Sears to see the Kenmore slide in induction:

Kenmore v Electrolux: warming drawer instead of 2nd oven, smooth cooktop without trim, porcelain racks but not slide out. I will probably go with the Electrolux. However I would really like to know what anyone thinks about the self clean porcelain racks that do not extend (can be self cleaned with the oven) vs the roll out wire racks and attachments to the oven that need to be removed and cleaned manually.

The dishwasher now the main issue: Was certain I was going to get the Miele but brought my dishes in and they do not fit the racks. So now I am deciding between the Bosch, Asko or Kitchen Aid E. Any recommendations?

My dishes didn't fit well in the bosch plus I wanted the heated dry option feature. I don't always use it but I wanted the option so I went with the KA Kude060 and I am happy with it. I would never have thought to take my dishes to the store. Thank you everyone for your advise.
