I use anti bacterial soap when I have rashes or feel itchiness but i ensure that I will also use Dove Liquid soap afterwards to moisten the skin. I also have my body spa once a month to scrub dead cells and rejuvenates my skin.

:) actually, the only problems I've ever had is finding scents that both DH and I like- honestly, lilac does smell funny on large, burly men- not to mention that it seems to 'spoil' faster on them! Karma Sutra's Clove is our favorite, but it's a once a year treat to buy a bottle, since it's not cheap. Yves Rocher makes some great ones in Green Tea, bamboo, and Cypress (along with rose, honeysuckle, and watermelon) that DH really likes, as well- and you can usually get them for like $3 a bottle.

There's a much, much easier solution to soap slivers than either putting them in a mesh bag OR boiling them down. After your shower, when the new bar is nicely wet on the surface, just 'piggyback' (press) the old sliver to the new bar of soap. Put it back in the soap dish, and by the time you take your next shower, the wet soap will have 'glued' the sliver to the new bar. Have been doing that for years. Works great, and it takes only seconds. It's especially effective with the aforementioned Dial soap, because it's concave surface nests the old sliver perfectly. I always have at least a couple of dozen bars of unwrapped soap in a box in the bathroom closet, drying. The OP is right--it makes a HUGE difference in the length of time your bar will last.

Add anything that isn't the base at trace--fragrances, herbs, leftover soap from other batches. If you are talking about REbatching, then wait until your base batch melts, & add your new items when you're about to mold, because rebatching temps are sustained for a longer time & can kill fragrance, herbal benefits, etc. I don't rebatch only because in my opinion it is kinda a waste of time-- you're not actually making new soap, you're just "melting" old soap. What I DO do, is make a new soap, pour a little into the molds at trace, add my old chopped or grated pieces, pour a little more new soap, stir it up, add more, pour more... until I have a nice layer cake-- all done, of course, at the speed of light so the new soap doesn't seize on me. Comes out chunky & pretty. Good luck.

I use body soap from Fa, Fragonard and Galimard. And I have one Nestidante soap. Sometimes Pears soap for my face. I used to do only shower gels/bath foams but got into bar soap again after decades.

I only use Ivory, I can't take any of the perfumed ones, I often get rashes so now I just stick to good old Ivory. Yes I use an antibacterial soap if I have a cut or lesion but that's it.
