I've never seen a laundry room that had curtains to the floor. That said, most simple cotton decorator fabric is 45" wide. If that is what you use, you will need one width for each panel. Measure from the top of your rod to the bottom of the sill (if that's where it will stop)and add about 8" to that measurement. This will give you extra for a hem and a rod pocket if that's what your're using. Then multiply times 2 and you have your total yardage. If you want each panel to match exactly across, then add about another 8 inches for a large print.

I bought mineral spirits to clean the ball. The tube says to use liquid nails remover or mineral spirits. I haven't cleaned the ball yet, but I poured some over the penies in a can and the dried stuff is softening up and seems to be coming off. When I'm reay to glove up and go clean the ball, I'll scrap them too. Sounds like a good time to retire a toothbrush. I think I like the 2 layers of pennies and decided after I started that I would like to try one with the bottom layer tails up and the top layer heads up. Has that ball been outdoors? I can't decide whether I like the bright copper or the verde patina better. I may need more BBs! The GEII holds the pennies to the first layer of penies as well? The liquid nails would definitely hold the pennies together (can't budge the two I tested, no how, no way) and what I got is clear. We have band UIL cotests this afternoon and tonight until 11 or so, and I got a whole 4 hours of sleep last night. A sane person would go take a nap now that the kids are at school, but I really want to get a start on this BB, and I need to do laundry, and there's this puppy we found on the street I have to keep an eye on. Yeah, a sane person might not have been so easily suckered.

Hi Laura, We work on a lot of historic and older homes here in the Northeast, so I can completely understand your concern for the subfloor (plywood) not being "level." And you're right, it is completely normal for everything to "settle" over time (or, move around, in your case) and it's important for whoever installs your new flooring to understand this and take appropriate measures to ensure a quality installation. First off, I'll start by saying that your subfloor doesn't exactly need to be "Level," It does, however, need to be "Flat." Hardwood flooring is a natural material that has a lot of its own movement without even considering the movement of the subfloor. That being said, I would have to recommend you having a professional, at the very least, come out and take a look to see exactly what kind of subfloor you're working with. The best recommendations aren't going to come from describing the existing conditions, or even pictures. Most times it's best to inspect the subfloor in person in order to be as accurate with a recommendation as possible. In general, some things you may want to consider are making sure your subfloor is really solid. That means if it's the original subfloor, you may want to install another layer of plywood first, in the opposite direction it's currently laid in, and have it adequately secured (we like to use subfloor adhesive along with long galvanized screws, directly into the beams) That extra layer would add more stability to your existing subfloor against all that future movement. The only other thing I would possibly recommend would be using a wood glue in the tongue and groove joints in addition to the nails or staples. Also, because your home has a Pier and Beam Foundation, make sure there is an adequate moisture barrier underneath your home, where the hardwood is to be installed. You'd be surprised at what any kind of moisture or humidity can do to a hardwood floor. Like I said earlier, it's a natural characteristic of all wood to have movement, you just have to prepare for it. If you want to read up more about the importance of solid subfloors, here's a link to our flooring blog post. The Importance of a Solid Subfloor I hope this helped to lead you in the right direction! Good Luck The Couture Floor Company

These two should be pinned to the top. They'd have everything everyone needs to know. Sadly, it'll probably never happen and the Ficus Lyrata posts won't die down until the tree loses popularity. Ive never been able to see what the fuss is all about. Personally, as I've always said, Benjamina and Alii make much better looking indoor trees. http://forums2.gardenweb.com/discussions/1476078/ficus-trees-in-containers-iv?n=223 http://forums2.gardenweb.com/discussions/2842847/container-soils-water-movement-and-retention?n=8
