Hi Everyone - I was having the same issue with our kitchenaid beverage center - and it was driving me nuts. Made no sense that canned drinks on the top were so warm - and I wanted to fix this. We bought our house with this fridge included in the deal (all appliances included). I am generally fairly handy - so I went to the internet to find a solution. Which led me to this website (discussion) through google. I paid particular attention to what sharrongrant58 said above - as it seemed to make the most sense. WITHOUT buying any additional parts, I did the following. I realized that it is obvious that the machine is designed to shut off once the interior temperature reaches what you have the thermostat set at. My fridge has the single knob thermostat at the bottom - and displays three separate temperatures for digitally inside for the lower middle and upper shelves. On a good day I would get 39 - 53 - 63. With the 39 being the concerning temperature. With the same readings above - if I put in a small digital thermometer in the fridge - sat it on a can on the top shelf just to see the reality, I would get maybe 45 degrees. Friggin too warm for beer. And the beer tasted too warm. So - knowing that the fridge compressor is shutting off too soon, led me to realize that the thermostat bulb is thinking the fridge is cold enough, and shuts off as per design. This meant to me - we got to move that thermostat bulb. So - I found a service manual on this fridge on line - here is the link.. Kitchenaid beverage center service manual Following the service manual - I tore it apart from the inside. Using the manual makes it real easy - and makes sense - read it first about the disassembly. It mainly helps in showing how to take out the shelves and removing the back panel in order to access the temperature bulb. You will have to unclip two different white wire connectors. It also shows pictures of the main temperature bulb, and pictures of what it looks like when the back panel is removed. All you are looking to do is get access to this temperature bulb - nothing else, so don't keep tearing it apart. What you are looking for once you get back there is a long black tube heading up from the bottom of the unit on the right hand side which is partially wrapped in grey foam. This is the temperature bulb. It continues up, then wraps in a double circle around a white connector and wires kind of hanging around it. Once you have located this - it is time to "move" it. Now, this is a copper tube that can easily pinch, or break - which is full of gas which fluctuates in order to send a signal to the thermostat to shut off or on. You don't want to crimp or damage this. So, when doing what I am about to describe - do it carefully. I had no idea where sharrongrant58 service man moved this tube - so it was a shot in the dark for me that worked! I gently unwrapped it from around the wires it was enclosed in (easy). I carefully redirected/ extended the end of the tube towards the center of the fridge to the left of of where it originally was. Basically i have it extended out (not wrapped in a double circle) up as high as possible to allow the back cover to go back on - and extending to the left mostly unwrapped, with a half circle still left in the tube so it basically sits in the center of the fridge as high as possible. I wish I took pictures - but my wording is pretty accurate. So - the tubing is coming from the bottom right of the fridge - all the way up as it was originally, but now continuing up as high as possible to allow the cover back on - and just uncircling the end from the wires - and redirecting the end to a new location (towards the fridge rear center) - and leaving a half circle in the very end (a 180 degree turn in the tube) - and having it as high as possible to allow the back cover to go back on like a "7" design. Again, as high as possible to allow cover to go back on. I then put the fridge all back together as per the service manual (did some quick cleaning as the fridge is probably at least 8 years old) - and then put it back in place. You will definitely need a flashlight for this job - or a light directed inside the fridge - as it is pretty dark back there. So - with further research - I knew that people were getting their fridge too cold once they did modifications. - - So, I backed off the knob thermostat from 100 percent to 50 percent. Plugged it in - put all of my cans and bottles back in, and waited. Watched the temperature over a 8 hour period, and adjusted the knob thermostat based on that. I now have it set to around 60 percent dialed, and getting displayed temperatures of on average 32 - 48 - 58... I could go colder, but I don't want things exploding/freezing inside. My digital thermometer sitting on same can/same locations now registers 36. It could be colder at rear of fridge - that is why I am careful. Keeping in mind that the 32 - 48 - 58 will fluctuates two to three degrees either way, the temperature won't be constant - no fridge is.. I was about to turf this fridge - and now it was fixed in 1.5 hours, after a year of being ticked at it - and trying to figure out a fix. Hope the above helps someone..... Thanks sharrongrant58!

Also a caveat to ordering from infomercials or QVC - you get what you pay for...if you're looking for a home treadmill/elliptical/etc., I'd suggest going to Sears, SportMart, or Play it Again Sports and **try before you buy**. Yeah, I know, QVC has the 30-day money back guarantee but think of what a hassle it'll be to keep the packaging, repackage, and ship back a large item. Not to mention that YOU have to pay the return shipping out of pocket! My top two suggestions for home exercise equipment: For strength training: Check out PowerBlocks. They are so neat - it's a set of adjustable dumbbells that takes up very little room and you can adjust from 5 pounds up to 100+ (depending on what model you buy). If you have wrist problems these are also a good choice ergonomically. PowerBlocks are being carried by a lot of exercise equipment dealers (FitnessWize is one in my area) or you can check 'em out on www.powerblocks.com. Trust me that you CAN INDEED get a full strength training workout with just dumbbells and an adjustable bench! Cardio top choice: If you have a decent bike (road or mountain) look into buying a WIND TRAINER. Most professional cyclists rely on wind trainers to keep up during the wet/rainy/snowy seasons when they can't ride outdoors. These can REALLY give you a workout! Best of all, they are very compact once you remove your bike - fits nicely into a closet. They come in a wide range of prices - just keep in mind that the less expensive ones are going to be a lot noisier than the pricier models. Any well-stocked bike shop should carry at least one model for you to try out. Check eBay for great prices! Hope that helps! The Best site for organizing tips is organizedhome.com because the printables are free and useful.The best website for buying books on the subject is half.com because its a thrifty way to go in buying books.As far as supplies.I think school supplies and New Years sales art your local discount stores are your best bet.I don't think once you take shipping into account that any place is a good idea to buy mail order.Unless you have the money to spend and want pretty baskets and wooden organizers. interesting topic...i work in several capacities in tv and print production. depending on the budget, i am sometimes styling things. here's my two cents worth: as for tips, there are so many different approaches, depending on what the point of the picture is, but i will do my best to lay out the things we address no matter what. 1)the first thing i think about is color. how can i bring this color all the way through the shot? fresh flowers in colors that pick up your accent colors. books and magazines in your accent colors. 2)lighting-- accent lighting, uplights, dimmers, warm bulbs. the makeover rooms you see on tv are always lit really dramatically, with professional lights. after the crew take the lights down, the room has lost some of its pop. you can recreate this to a degree with careful attention to lighting. 3) dramatic plant (usually palm or bamboo) with uplight for shadows. 4) as someone mentioned here, layers...everything is layered in color and texture. 5) mood. props are chosen to create the overall mood of the room.in our own homes, we live in these rooms so moods/purpose of the room shifts with the needs of the family. 6) large props (such as floral arrangement, bigger is better for drama) or groups of collections cleanly placed, with no surrounding clutter. 7) reflective/glowing surfaces, but no stark white things in foreground. mirrors to reflect light from opposite window or chandelier. 8) in photo shoots and sometimes in tv, we have the luxury of selecting the shot. we have full editorial decision over what angle the viewer will see it from and where we will crop the image, so we can pick the foreground and background carefully. good shot composition has a focal point and leads the eye somewhere definite. color that leads the eye from left to right around the room, landing spots for the eye and an invitation to enter and explore (focal point, obscuring full view but leaving enough to draw eye forward). 9) photoshop a great background out of the windows. take out anything that doesn't work. change rain to sunshine in bg. etc. What is really interesting to me is that i also spent some time as a designer for custom homes (home designs, not interior design) and the same principles were employed in that line of work. Sarah Susankah's books talk a lot about the ideas of light and focal points, but with a practical bent. i find it so amazing that i can see exactly what to do for others or on set, but in my own home, it takes me years to make up my mind about a darn wall color. perhaps that goes to purpose-- at work i know what the point of the shot is, but at home, the point of the room is always changing and i need it to be so much more than perfect at one moment. i also think i get used to seeing things at home and overlook all of the tings that would horrify me if i saw them on set. maybe that is why seeing pictures of our rooms can be so helpful. furniture placement is always the killer for me. it's so much easier on a set, when you have been preparing for one shot for two weeks and you can clear everything that doesn't work out of the room. and you have a talented crew who can make anything you dream up happen!
