Didn't mean to offend with the stupid people remark. Just got done fielding a call from the shelter today about people obtaining two rabbits at Xmastime from pet store. Guess what? They now have five rabbits. Five lionhead rabbits, ma, pa, and 3 babies. Pet store people sell products, and humane societies take care of euthanizing...when cage space is full. I walked out this morning and saw baby bunny fertilizer in the garden gazebo. :) woo hoo. Nacho Beeler, Beeler J, and baby beeler - !the whole family! - were out nibbling grasses and looking after each other. Mom Cottontail was whispering to her baby when the coast was clear, teaching her youngen safety lessons. Attractive rabbit fencing with decorative accents might be your best bet, Heather. Keep us posted. Your marigolds will look lovely no matter where they're planted. Hope your lagomorphs lovelies will munch elsewhere; Clip the clover, petunias, and dandelions instead. baby bunny droppings, :)

Thanks for the suggestions. I have been looking at the Bunn and the Cuisinart. I have the Cuisinart toaster, blender, and the food processor and have been quite happy with them. And as Momj47 said, my pot doesn't just drip it runs out the top. I have tried holding the lid down and I really don't think you should have to do that. Now the feature that you can take the pot out and it is no suppose to continue to drip isn't working. This coffee pot is only 4 months old. But then I did get it free from Gevalia. Actually my third one with them and this is the second one to do this. I guess I have learned nothing is free in live. So off to the stores to check out the Cuisinart and the Bunn.

Yawn...! I dropped like a tired dog last night! No, we don't "charge" but we do expect a donation to "the kitchen committee". We are looking to do some kitchen updating. When I talk with the family, I try to remind them what a meal like we serve might cost if they had to buy it from someone who charged for their labor! And I also suggest that it's the generosity of some that allows us to provide the service without charge for those for whom it would be a hardship to have another fee to pay. Around here, every church handles the gathering after the service in a different manner. Some churches always order in premade sandwiches and chips and stuff at a cost of from $5 to $7.50 per person...not per person that comes but per person that you think may come. So if you are thinking you many have as many as 100 for Aunt Bessie's funeral, you better order sandwiches for that many and if 50 come, you have 50 sandwiches left over! Some churches do as we do and some ask for potluck donations. But the best funeral lunch I ever had was after the funeral for my son in law;s grand mother, a dear Italian lady from the South side of Des Moines and a very Italian Catholic parish. Afterward we all went to the hall and the Italian cooks brought out steaming trays of manicotti and baked ziti and wonderful Italian salad and good bread and Italian pastrys for dessert! Yes, it's a ministry, it's what I do, I cook. I don't teach Sunday school, I don't do well visiting sick people in the hospital, I don't go to disaster areas to help rebuilding...so I cook! It gives me great satisfaction to see silent subdued people come into the dining room after a funeral and gradually see them relax and see the sense of relief come over them and see them begin to laugh and remember. Many times I have sat in the kitchen, almost all cleaned up, waiting for the family to leave. And in the process of doing this, I have sized up quite a few recipes to feed a gang! And I know how to put on a good meal for a crowd for only $1.00 to $1.50 per person, provided the cookies are donated! Linda C

I have an induction cooktop and just asked customcuttingboards for an estimate to make me a top for my 21 x 36 cooktop. We entertain quite a bit where guests all bring pu pus. So, I don't need the cooktop but I do need the space for pu pus and drinks,etc. I will let you know the price when they respond to my request. If the bid is too high, I will just find or make a 22 x 37 cutting board and put little legs on it : ) Which is what we did with our previous electric element cooktop. I suppose, if you have gas or electic elements and kids, you might be concerned about putting wood on top of it. However, there are clear substances (clear intumescent) you can paint on to make it fire resistant. I don't think you would want to use it as a cutting board if you treated the wood.
