I have been a Coca Cola Junkie for 20 years-I averaged 6 to 10 a day---Yes It was bad---

Woke up one day and stopped. I had some withdraws but I did it for my health

Good for you!..never too late to quit! All pop is bad for you, better go with water only.

I've given up sodas for the most part. I have a ginger ale if I have a bad stomach, and pizza still requires a root beer, but that is about 4 times a year. It does feel like quite and accomplishment to me and I was not drinking anywhere near what you were. So you must feel like you have really accomplished something.

I would just suggest that you not stop there. I only drink water or sometimes a glass of milk with a sandwich or herbal or green tea with no milk or sugar. If you have been drinking that much, I would try to help your body repair by increasing the healthy foods as well. Lots of vegetables and fruits for starters.

Well, I did contact the Coca Cola Company, and here is their response: Thank you for contacting The Coca-Cola Company. We appreciate the opportunity to respond. The inks on our cartons are water-based and are 50% water. Additionally, they are soluble. Due to this fact, we see no reason why you could not compost the carton in a garden. If you have any additional comments, please feel free to contact us again. Lesley Industry and Consumer Affairs The Coca-Cola Company My personal decision is to compost them. I am in love with the idea of putting them to use at my own house. Like I said, I have a lot of these cartons. My husband "drinks" Coca Cola all of the time. ("Drinks" means that he pops open the can, forgets where he leaves it, pops open another can, etc, etc., then I pour the rest in the drain, and recycle the can.) The carton itself says that is it recyclable, which I do all the time the conventional way. The other factor in my decision is the fact that I have been exposed to pesticides all of my life, more than I like to think about. A little water-based soluble ink in my compost is fine with me. My way of life is gearing more and more toward Simple Organic Living (http://www.voiceyourself.com). For right now I am happy with that. Thank you for all of your responses. Cathy D.

Over 30 years ago,I worked in a restaurant with a soda fountain area. They had every flavor syrup you could imagine,in pump bottles. I tried coke with every flavor, vanilla,cherry,lemon,lime,pineaple,etc, etc. Coca cola with vanilla syrup was delicious. But I have tried sweetened Vanilla coke and it's just not as good. Wish it was.

I've done the coke with battery acid thing. In my case it wasn't rust, but the crusty battery acid that builds up at the connectors. That stuff isn't all that easy to get off either. I was about 19 and working at a restaurant and my car wouldn't start up after work. One of the cooks came out to take a look and saw the connection to the battery wasn't working because there was too much crusty acid built up on it. He unhooked the cables, ran inside and grabbed a glass of coke (or pepsi) from the soda machine came back out poured it on and it completely dissolved all the acid. Hooked them back up and it started up right away. I love Dr. Pepper but am trying really hard not to drink it very often. I already use sugar in my coffee in the morning so I don't really need more in the afternoon. :/

carla35, sometimes the truth hurts doesn't it? chi83, yes, I freely admit I've done similar things, but the difference is that I'll admit when I do something stupid. Oh, it hurts someone's feelings to admit it. Boo-hoo-hoo. I don't feel the need to blame someone else for my actions as a few here do. If you don't pay attention, it's YOUR fault, not the manufacturer's, retailers, or other forum participants. It must be nice to be so superior that everyone else is to blame when people make mistakes. Oh wait, it's not a mistake when it's someone else's fault, is it? That still keeps that person perfect doesn't it? Gotta keep up the image, right? It shows how pompous and arrogant people can be. Never admit they make mistakes, it's got to be someone else's fault and you have to look out for me!!!! Protect me from me! And how dare anyone talk about blaming the company when a diabetic, celiac, peanut-allergic refuses to check each and every thing they ingest. Just says what I've been saying all along. "I didn't know that product had peanuts in it - they never used to!! IT'S NOT MY FAULT!!!!! I'M GONNA SUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There's always a few to jump on the bandwagon telling people how cruel they are when they have the guts to tell the Emperor he has holes in his underwear. All so we can be "nice". Shall I say how I feel about that? LOL (Hint: it starts with "s".)

That's great, it's not really healthy to drink coca cola. People do indeed become addicted to caffeine very rapidly.It can make their sleep patterns disturbed. It can make them restless, wired, anxious.It also has an adverse affect on bone health.

And well done for stop drinking Coca Cola!

I have never felt better since i stopped eating sugar and started eating a lot of vegetables. The sugar industry and the corn syrup industry should pay for healthcare

Coca Cola just doesn't taste right anymore. I've had some in Europe and it tasted like what I remembered from the '60s.

There are many lucious teas on the market - you may want to begin trying some of them. Too, Kefir is a marvelous drink healthwise. Congratulations and good luck
