Refrigerator help! Liebherr for future or Samsung for now?
Comments (0)Sorry for the double posting if any of you have seen this elsewhere - I just do not know where I posted it! I am new to this forum, and read lots of old posts about the Liebherr 36". Actually purchased it last week when my old GE SxS died, but have not taken delivery as I'm in a state of quandry (not to mention had to rip out two cabintes and fix up the space to fit any new fridge). Since I *may* be renovating my kitchen in the near future, cannot decide if I should get something to tie me over until I know what will fit in the renovation - could be a Liebherr, could be a SZ, or GE monogram! - or keep the Liebherr and work that into the renovation. Is it really enough room for a family of 4 or will I need a back-up? I'm also concerned that the bins - which I love for being deep and long - will enable me to overload them and not find anything. How do you Liebherr owners organize your bins? I love the "deli" drawer concept in every other FD fridge, as they are flatter, and I imagine easier to store meat, cheese and snacks for the kids. So, I am contemplating cancelling my order and buying the basic Samsung full-depth FD, which is still $1400. A lot for what may become a back-up fridge! OR EVEN the newer 4 dr FD Samsung - though I prefer not to have water/ice in door... Thanks in advance for your insights....See MoreQuestion re: Samsung FD fridge with dual ice maker model
Comments (6)I haven't seen the 298 in person as Lowe's doesn't currently have any of the Samsung RFG298 in stock - they claim they are selling them faster than they get them. However, I did speak with the Samsung rep on Sat, and she told me that the 298 is the exact same machine as the 297 with the addition of the ice maker in the freezer. (Which is the same ice maker they use in their FDs that don't have the in-door dispensers.) It is my understanding that the 297 does have LED lighting. henrywerch's post suggests that the 297 does not use LED, but the Samsung website link below advertises that it does: http://www.samsung.com/ca/consumer/detail/detail.do?group=homeappliances&type=refrigerators&subtype=frenchdoor&model_cd=RFG297AARS/XAC FWIW, the Samsung rep told me that there are many errors at the Samsung website. So it is entirely possible that in one place they cite LED and contradict it in another. While I can't confirm that the 297 has LED lighting, according to the rep, if the 297 has it, then so does the 298. Don't know that this helps, but I hope so....See More? for Samsung refrigerator owners
Comments (8)I ordered the KitchenAid dishwasher (#KUDE70); its waiting to be installed. If not this, it would have been a lower end integrated Miele model (the KA was lots cheaper). Although I didn't much care about matching stuff exactly, this dishwasher and Samsung's #238 fridge both have curved (bow shaped) handles, and both are stainless. I noticed a YouTube review of the KA -- see link below. Here is a link that might be useful: YouTube KA #KUDE70 dishwasher review...See MoreSamsung FD Refrigerator owners -- Help please!
Comments (12)Mine is like fourkids4us describes with metal tracks, but I've had mine since Feb. I can't see any wheels except the one in the middle of the drawer. Have you tried removing and replacing the drawer? Your manual might tell how to do this for cleaning. Obviously, the repair person did, though. I agree with craftlady that it looks like the drawer is not wide enough. However, since the drawer has been replaced, it sounds like it might be that the spacing between the wheels is too wide (assuming that the wheels are attached to the sides of the fridge, not the drawer). Is there any way to adjust the wheel on the right side so that it sticks out a little more? Good luck! I hope Samsung fixes this for you without any more hassles!...See Morewear_your_baby
