Over 30 years ago,I worked in a restaurant with a soda fountain area. They had every flavor syrup you could imagine,in pump bottles. I tried coke with every flavor, vanilla,cherry,lemon,lime,pineaple,etc, etc. Coca cola with vanilla syrup was delicious. But I have tried sweetened Vanilla coke and it's just not as good. Wish it was.

China (brand) cola is made with sugar and the organic & natural foods section of our (Vermont) Hannaford supermarket has it. Also the same store carries Polar Classic soda, also with sugar, in their regular soft drink isle. I bought a six pack of Polar Classic black cherry. A few years back we stopped drinking carbonated beverages to avoid HFCS, and I switched to plain seltzer water because I like the sparkling effect. I had planned to occasionally use sugar and flavoring to make my own soft drinks when the mood for a sweeter drink struck, but now with the marketing of these retro soda pops there's no need. I do hope the demand for corn for ethanol production will cause a wholesale removal of HFCS from our food supply. It is so pervasive that we have to read every label from soup to ketchup to avoid it.

I've done the coke with battery acid thing. In my case it wasn't rust, but the crusty battery acid that builds up at the connectors. That stuff isn't all that easy to get off either. I was about 19 and working at a restaurant and my car wouldn't start up after work. One of the cooks came out to take a look and saw the connection to the battery wasn't working because there was too much crusty acid built up on it. He unhooked the cables, ran inside and grabbed a glass of coke (or pepsi) from the soda machine came back out poured it on and it completely dissolved all the acid. Hooked them back up and it started up right away. I love Dr. Pepper but am trying really hard not to drink it very often. I already use sugar in my coffee in the morning so I don't really need more in the afternoon. :/

@Sharmeen Aghaeian @Caroline Field Sure, pics are from various stages of remodeling/decorating (so maybe 18 months in between them), but really liking them so far. Seem like good quality and don't show dirt easily. Some scratches from my kids, but even those aren't too noticeable. Have not done any maintenance yet. We wanted something updated but not trendy and I like how these floors are neutral without being too light or dark.
