My recipe calls for pouring the soda around the edges. And I don't make the sauce. I "eye" it, by dotting with butter and sprinkle a lesser amt of sugar and cinnamon. This is recipe I use but using less amts of sugar and butter. Just when sugars and butter looks right. And NO the crescents do not get soggy. Ingredients 4 Granny Smith Apples, peeled and cored, cut into quarters 2 cans Crescent Dinner Rolls (open and separate) 2 C. granulated sugar 1 C. brown sugar 1 (12 oz.) can Sprite 3/4 C. (1 1/2 sticks) butter or margarine Directions Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Spray a 13 x 9-inch baking pan with Pam. Wrap each piece of apple in a crescent roll. Put into prepared baking dish, core side down. Mix sugars together and spread evenly over apples. Cut butter or margarine over top, then pour Sprite around the edge of the baking dish. Bake until browned. Yield: 16 apple dumplings

There's nothing sibling rivalry about her bahavior. The resentment, embarrassment, and other feelings described here concerning a much, much younger sibling is nonsense, justified as normal or legitimate because they had no one to tell them their feelings were wrong. People think and feel all kinds of things, but just because it's the way one feels doesn't make it right, hence there is murder and much other wrongful doing in the world. If they had someone to set them straight, the subjects would never have entered into your thread as anything of concern or consideration. Given any opportunity, I think your SD will abuse the baby - smack him, pinch him, or anything she can do to make him cry, if not *accidentally* drop him - because she lives in a very dark place mentally and emotionally, and she wants the whole world to be as angry, sad, and unhappy as she is. For him to think it nothing more than sibling rivalry is turning a blind eye. He needs an intervention to make him realize and understand the damage he's doing his daughter, and therefore his marriage and his son. You might talk to a health care professional and tell them the same as you've told us (and everything you haven't told us). Then, ask them to help you talk to your husband. I know you don't want to leave, but I'm truly impressed you are seriously considering it as more than just threatening in order to get your way. I don't know how the women who threaten end up feeling when they don't get their way and don't leave either. You can't keep being walked on like this, but he isn't going to listen to you. He isn't going to do any more than he has been doing no matter how much you threaten. It might take you leaving to get his attention, and then you can demand he go with you to talk to the professional. You might demand it before leaving but if he refuses, then you have to walk out the door, realizing it is likely forever and no amount of tears and begging you to come back can change your mind unless he changes his. If you don't leave, then please don't leave the baby with him when you go back to work. He has a cautious mother to protect him right now. Who will protect him when you're gone? His father never will believe there is any danger or concern.

When I curse someone these days I tell them May your toilet back up during your colonoscopy prep! The Suprep was recommended and highly pushed when I had mine but at over $125 co-pay I said no and went with the alternative, Go-Lytely which was something like $10 co-pay. That was a LOT of volume to drink (and I debated maybe I should have just paid for it) but for me it wasn't taking the stuff that was the worst. I had lemon drops I'd take after taking the stuff and it came with a lemon flavor packet. They said you could mix Crystal Lite or something with it, but I just used the packet provided. What was worst for me, and I didn't even think of it before was the various pain I was in from sitting there so long. I could hardly walk afterward. I know now to take some pain pills before and let them go to work. I also took the advice I read somewhere to cut out meat and things from the diet about 5-7 days before. I ate a lot of Rice Crispies and stuff to be on the lighter end and FWIW they said I did an excellent job of prep for the procedure. They wanted me back in 3 years. Other things that were suggested, comfy toilet paper and Vaseline. Big mistake: Aloe Vera gel. WHEW, never again! And having the computer there to distract me was helpful. I also started a little early with the prep and next time might start a little earlier yet. Not that I want to prolong it but when I got to the point of gagging on the stuff, I could take a little break, drink a little water and move on. (Was that a pun?)

Last night, I THOUGHT I had come back and apologized for over reacting to the soda situation. Guess I didn't hit submit or something. Over the years I have posted many times of my addictions to cigarettes and sodas. Four years ago I was able to kick cigarettes but I continue to struggle with sodas. IMO, they are vile products! Call it addiction... weak-willed... whatever you want, but children would be better off not having them introduced into their diets. Yes, we all have our own individual worries. Grapes would have been a huge hit with me, sliced or not.
