Smhinnb, maybe that's what I did wrong-I didn't comb them out after getting wet because mine looked good for about a week and then got clumpy and didn't last very long. I also wasn't told to use oil free products. I never made it to the "fill" stage because they started bugging me-especially after my own eyelashes were growing-some of the extensions were growing too, which made then too long, so I had to eventually pull them off, which left me with hardly any of my own lashes. They also started sticking straight out very stiff-like they lost their curl. I did buy a tool to curl them (since you can't use regular eyelash curlers) but couldn't get it to work properly. But, it doesn't sound like I took care of them correctly. I have done Latisse for a couple of years now and love it. I have baby blue grayish eyes and and have never had any side effects. Also, I was told that you use half dose of what was recommended to use on (tiny) bottle and it worked wonderfully, so lasted a lot longer. eta: addt'l info

She's adorable . . . and very talented! Here in New Mexico, with our bright, clear skies and high altitude, makeup applied badly (or too much) shows up very obviously. In my teens and twenties, I lived by and in the water elsewhere, and never had much time for anything but a bit of mascara, lip gloss and blush. Fast forward to having a beautiful daughter in a sorority at college. They all seemed to watch a LOT of these how-to videos, and became makeup experts! As a result, DD was always buying me new makeup things, like different applicator brushes for everything, and one of those liquid makeup applicator egg sponge things. OMG, I even sound like an amateur (LOL)! I still am, but I do use the egg sponge thing, wet like you're supposed to, whenever I do actually apply liquid makeup . . . which is only in the evenings if we're going out someplace special. And then, only when I remember to use it! I did enjoy learning here how to apply contour powder the correct way. DD has shown me before, but she put it on me and her hand was always blocking me from seeing much. I was fascinated with how this gal applied her mascara, but need to watch it again to make sure I got it right. Cat-eye eyeliner is so NOT me, but DD did teach me to apply it along the waterline (under my upper lashes) and gently smudge it in between the upper lashes. That is a makeup trick that I now use all the time! Thanks Annie for the great video. I enjoyed it a lot. BTW, did anyone else see the strong resemblance between this makeup expert and Sandra Bullock? I thought that without makeup, they could be sisters.

Yes, these are supposed to be the ”shorter” pairs that can work with glasses even. Out of the 4 styles I have, these are the shortest. They have a video about trimming, and I will try it eventuallly. But I’ve worn them twice and they work very well and are easy to apply and take off. I have few events coming up. We’ve had some outdoor concerts but it was so hot this is the last thing I want to bother with. My niece thought they were fine, but she is used to people with super long or thick lashes. She may try these herself.

Yeah, I think I could leave the lead poking out about 1 or 2mm, not more. If you don't like the Elf, one other thing to try -- this eyeliner. The "smokey grey" color is closer to a neutral taupe. The color goes on heavy but if you use a light hand and blend quickly with a little brush, this could potentially make an amazing brow pencil. (I also really love it as a subtle eyeliner that doesn't tug at my lids.) Once it dries down, it's verrrrry smudge resistant. Because it's so soft, I think it would be a little easier to whisk over bare areas (I find that hard brow pencils are not always great for filling in my bald spots). Only recommended if you're ok with a subtle filled in look, it would be too hard to get hair strokes with this.
