I have always had sparse eyelashes and hated it.. and I only wear mascara for special occasions because it irritates my eyes also. I will continue to deal with my deficiency though because I am unwilling to deal with the issues of any means to enhance. I have an allergy to adhesives-- a bandaid or patch will give me hives and insane itches. The Latisse is to have side effects very similar to glaucoma medicine (in fact, I think it is a variation of one of the glaucoma meds)-- and can change your eye color and eyelash color. You may want to try a new eyeliner.. or new eye makeup.. or play up your lips to add drama. I have been using a gel eyeliner from lancome that goes on wet and seems to last well. I also switched to wearing a liquid eye shadow (chanel) in a new color (a reflective pink-brown) that seems to play up my eyes in a subtle way without wanting/needing a mascara. As I remember, I think we have similar coloring. I have medium tone skin with blonde hair (though mine is *cough* chemically enhanced). I feel silly in heavy lashes -- yes, I'd like to have *some* lashes lol.. but I usually just stick to a natural palette and add a little shimmer with the eye shadow mentioned above and a lipstick with a little gloss. Besides, heavy lashes would showcase the dark circles and bags under my eyes!! ;)

Smhinnb, maybe that's what I did wrong-I didn't comb them out after getting wet because mine looked good for about a week and then got clumpy and didn't last very long. I also wasn't told to use oil free products. I never made it to the "fill" stage because they started bugging me-especially after my own eyelashes were growing-some of the extensions were growing too, which made then too long, so I had to eventually pull them off, which left me with hardly any of my own lashes. They also started sticking straight out very stiff-like they lost their curl. I did buy a tool to curl them (since you can't use regular eyelash curlers) but couldn't get it to work properly. But, it doesn't sound like I took care of them correctly. I have done Latisse for a couple of years now and love it. I have baby blue grayish eyes and and have never had any side effects. Also, I was told that you use half dose of what was recommended to use on (tiny) bottle and it worked wonderfully, so lasted a lot longer. eta: addt'l info

I bought my first tube of Latisse from the dermatologist. When I realized it was Lumigan, I started getting prescriptions for the generic from my PCP. I would tell the pharmacy I was paying cash rather than using my insurance because it was for my lashes, not glaucoma (I didn't want to end up with glaucoma on my medical history). Then, about 5 years ago I asked one of the pharmacists at the hosp where I work what they did with the expired Lumigan. They used to throw it away. Not anymore! :-) Linelle, I would explain to your PCP that you would like a prescription for generic Lumigan instead of paying so much for Latisse. Terriks, I still use the brush from my original tube of Latisse. I squeeze a drop into the cap of the generic Lumigan, dip the brush and apply to my lash line. One drop is more than enough. Then I replace the brush into the dry Latisse container. I'm not recommending that anyone use anything past the exp date, though.

My DD has done a lift and tint a couple of times, especially before a vacation, so i tried it before our 2 week trip to Ireland/Scotland 2 years ago. I really liked having it then because I didn't have to use mascara all the time if I didn't want to. I’m pretty minimal with makeup anyway but need something for my lashes, even after using Latisse. Latisse has made them longer but not so full or dark.
