A 247.xxx was made by MTD. Maybe try that approach.

I guess I wasn't clear enough with my questions. As I understand, "coping" copies the intended data to the clipboard, and "pasting" copies what is on the clipboard and puts it where you direct. So to achieve a pasting, the data is copied twice. I already know the end results of "Copy here" and "Move here," and how to do that. But to achieve said results with Copy here or Move here, does the OS still use the clipboard? In other words, does it still copy the data twice, or just once? I am interested because there is always the risk of loosing complete data, like with photo files, when being copied. So it would seem that if I do a lot of reorganizing of my photos, it would behoove me to use the method that copies a minimum amount of times. Am I being unnecessarily picky? What I interpolate from you answer is that "Copy here" and "Move here" bypasses the clipboard. Is this true? Thanks Rick

Why don't you try to email the company. A co-worker was missing her manual for a different machine, a Viking emailed the manual to her. Don't know if they would do it for the larger D1 manual, but hey, it's worth a shot. Also, there are two Yahoo groups for the Designer 1. There might be someone there that could help you find a manual.

I found one at a yard sale a year or so ago, almost new - $7.50, the lady asked. A couple of weeks later, while travelling with my son's friend, we found one out with the garbage ... so we grabbed it. It was new ... or almost so: looked never used! Same model as my son's - the replacement that he'd bought a short time before, when his original machine died. It's here and working for me now. Son gave me a manual ... if only I could find it! ole joyful
