Realize original post is a little old. Just wanted to let the self-tanners out there know about 2 products I have found to be very natural and not at all orange. Fake Bake and St. Tropeiz. Unfortunately I am allergic to Fake Bake. Both are mousse applications and being a self-tanner for over 15 years, I have it down pat. Use disposible latex gloves. Can pretty much do my entire body. You will notice a little brown in the water after your first shower. If you can, do the application and don't shower for 24 hours. Just makes it a little darker. I put the St. Tropeiz on and go out for the day. The color is brown when you apply it so you can see where you are putting it, not to miss any spots, but you can still go out once it drys because it looks very natural. Both products are very subtle. I have had problems with spray tans. Hollywood was a disaster with that booth thing and turning around, etc. I looked like an orange the next day, spotty just plain horrible and it took a week to scrub it off. Other personal spray tanning gave me trouble one year I kept getting a itchy rash and had to stop going, thus the St. Tropeiz. Not itchy at all after using it all the time this past summer. No time to lay in the sun for an even tan even if I wanted to possibly take the risk of skin cancer.

The best--and I have used lots--is L'Oreal towelettes. The color is great and it dries quick (has aha in it I believe). I have not seen them in the stores this year and I am worried they are discontinued. There is another thread or two on here about that. I have been using Makeup Alley for product reviews.

I have also used serveral self-tanners and have been allergic to them all. I have even tried hypoallergenic self-tanners but still get a horrible rash from them that can last a couple of weeks. Have you had any luck with self-tanners since posting your lost post? I now think its the dha added in self-tanners. This it the main ingreient in all self-tanners. Anyway I have an appointment with the dermatoligist later this week to find out what I'm allergic to. Lets hope its not the dha or I wont be able to use any self-tanners apart from the bronzers that wash off or fade by the end of the day.

I don't have it and my Mom didn't have it either even at 88 when she passed. She still had great legs. Of course I am really active....I get stopped all the time on the street and at the gym and folks ask about my legs LOL. First time it happened was in a line for a food buffet back in 1988 when my Dad was in the hospital in FL. I had on shorts and a gal commented on how amazingly toned my legs were. I was flattered and still am when someone comments on how I look I am vain I guess but I really enjoy working out and the plus is that I get a good toned " self" to boot :) I am almost 61 and on my bike trip last year there were a bunch of guys standing in a parking lot as we rode up on our bicycles. I was getting my stuff together and I noticed they had stopped talking and were watching us....3 gals and 1 guy. When I pulled off my helmet I heard a gasp. One guy came over and then the rest. He said " whoa....I never expected anyone with legs like THAT to have grey hair !!". I laughed and thanked him. He and his friends were very nice and we all had a great conversation about cycling. Bumble...I sure hope I am on a long trail run and just " go on over" when the time comes. I would hate to linger. Momma went in her sleep here at the house with us , sitting in her rocking chair. Great thread ..as usual !! c
