Can you season a new pot after you've used it?

I recently bought all new stainless cookware when I switched to induction and I chose a mid-priced set, trying to be economical, all of whose pieces are now mottled on the inside - sort of dry and whitish looking - even though I've barely used them a month. It doesn't seem to affect the cooking, but I was so disappointed (I cook a lot), that I thought I'd treat myself to a single, high-quality Demeyere sauce pan.

It just arrived - and I actually read the instruction booklet that came with it, which said I should season the pot with a little cooking oil before using it, which I did.

But this has made me wonder - would the other stainless cookware have mottled interiors if I had seasoned them first? And is it too late to season them now that I've used them?

Thanks for any advice!
