Oceanna? Info about painting countertops
Comments (0)Hi, I have had a terrible time finding the info on this when I did a search. I copied this first post in June 2007. I dont know whether this works or not, but I scanned my printed instructions which gr82bgrammy so kindly detailed. There were 18 pages in this thread; I only scanned the 2 that were most informative. I hope this helps. If you have a better idea on how to post this, I'd love to be able to share it. here is the 2nd page She goes on to say to apply 2nd coat of poly in opposite direction. Then continue steps 1 and 2 until you have 4 coats of poly. Counter must sit undisturbed for several days to let surface harden. Here is the complete line at the bottom of the page I had printed out. Is this the URL? Not exactly sure what that is... http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/decor/msg0618502418935.html?21 I have tried clicking on it and nothing happened. Maybe you are more computer savvy?? No one could be less so than I, haha! Good luck. PS- Just ordered wainscoting wallpaper that I saw on a previous post of yours. Wish me luck, haha...See MoreWhat do you know about painting kitchen cabinets?
Comments (7)Any paint job is all in the prep. It takes a lot of prep, and prep isn't exciting to most homeowners. It looks like nothing is happening for a good whil and they wonder why they spent all of that money. And it won't be inexpensive for a good quality job. You can get a slap dash job for under 1K, but run away quickly! If you're up for a bit of messy phisical labor, it's really not a difficult DIY job. 1. Clean your cabs with TSP and rinse. 2. Scuff sand all surfaces. 3.(rime with an alkyd stain blocking primer like Bin or the original Kilz. 4. Apply 2nd thin coat of primer. 5. Thin the latex enamel topcoat with Floetrol and apply the first thin coat. 6. Apply 2nd coat. You're done if you want plain painted cabinets. 7. Apply glaze coat and wipe (if desired) 8. Apply clear acrylic sealer. 9. Wait until fully cured before rehanging doors. Install new knobs...See MoreCan anyone help with more information about Jessica Jacobs furniture?
