Does anyone have a Thermador Wall oven w/ microwave Model PODM301

I'm desperate to find someone who has one of these ovens...we are on our second one in 6 months and this one is also a lemon. Keep getting E011 errors and also when the oven tells me its heated to 350 it's only at 275...it's been a nightmare....STAY AWAY FROM THERMOADOR.

I tried googling that Model and reviews. Unfortunately I can not turn up a single review, anywhere.

Sooooo, I googled Thermador Oven reviews. Unfortunately, things don't look so good there, but do that yourself and draw your own conclusions.

Here is one of several I found on Thermador Ovens.

While Thermador wall ovens, including the Thermador ME301ES (*Est. $2,600) , post high scores in independent tests, a reader survey from ConsumerReports.org finds the brand to be less reliable overall, with about 30 percent of owners reporting problems with their Thermador wall ovens within five years of ownership. In June 2007, about 42,000 Thermador wall ovens were recalled because the insulation had gaps, posing a fire hazard to nearby cabinets when the oven was in self-cleaning mode. Another 37,000 Thermador wall ovens were recalled in January 2010 for the same problem.

Hmmm... Good to read this although I'm sorry you're having problems with your Thermador.
I'm presently deciding between a Thermador double wall oven and an Electrolux. I REALLY want the Electrolux but am contemplating the Thermador Induction cooktop and if I purchase the wall ovens with it we get a free dishwasher. It may not be worth it though.

We took a piece of bread to the appliance store. We toasted the 1 piece of bread for 6 minutes in the Advantium (flipping it once) and it still wasn't really done. So I guess we've eliminated the Advantium as a toaster oven substitute - bummer!

I posted a while ago and never came back to answer the questions- sorry! I can give an update: Weve had the range for about 18 months now and we are very happy with it. We use the griddle very often, the grill insert from time to time The steam oven works well- no water on the floor- the water container has a lid that closes before you slip it in the slot. My only complaint- the small oven does not brown evenly on convention bake- I baked 2 pies in there at Thanksgiving (one at a time)- and the tops browned more at the back end of the over- had to be careful and cover with aluminum foil to avoid burning. We've had problems with the circular thermometer in the center of the range- In my opinion this is a silly feature - it does not really reflect the temperature inside the oven as i moves immediately on setting on or off, and something was wrong with the way it was wired into our range- the wires came loose at least twice- we had the warranty so repair was completely free - might as well since it was free, and now its been fine - I wouldnt pay to repair this as it is not very useful. I have never used self clean- and after readying about frying electronics I have elected to not use that feature and clean the oven myself.

The newer Bosch units are always "seperate". When you get a a unit like an HBL8751 it actually comes in 2 boxes with a kit to join option together. You then plug the top unit into a junction box and connect both to a single power supply. This IMHO is the best of both worlds as install is a one piece but you can replace one independently of the other.

A little late to the party, but here's another vote for 48" range if your kitchen can handle it and your lifestyle could use it. You don't need to host lavish parties to use 48" of cooktop and two ovens. Cooking is a serious hobby of mine and I've needed as little as 3 burners at a time to feed 30+, and I've used 6ish simultaneously to feed two. More often than me using all these burners for fancy meals is the two scenarios I don't see mentioned as often on this forum: 1. 48" of cooktop makes it more comfortable for two people to cook at once. 2. You don't need to use 8 burners to make good use of 48" of real estate. I have stock pots that will crowd out 3 burners. I use mine primarily for whole lobster, and large batches of pasta and potatoes, the possibilities are endless. I have several woks that will crowd out 3 burners each. I can make two different stir fries at once with a few side dishes and take up all 8 burners worth of space. I think at the the end of the day, if you aren't sure you need 48" of burner space you probably don't. As many very insightful people mentioned above it depends on your situation.

I'm in a similar boat to you 2LittleFishies.

The salesman at the appliance store we were at really tried to push Thermador on us and he made it sound great, but so many shady reviews have made me second guess that brands recent products. I'm also now leaning towards Electrolux induction cooktop and wall ovens with Bosch DW. That free thermador DW is mighty tempting though!
