Comments (5)There are lots of postings on the KA double ovens. People seem to have had issues with them overheating after using the self clean feature. Of course the self clean feature is nothing more than a super heated oven to begin with and puts a lot of strain on the components. I never use the self clean feature. We got a KA about two years ago and have had no issues. It is easy to clean up a spill if you take care of it within a day or two. The oven will last much longer if you avoid the self clean cycle. Think of it as driving your Kia at 100 MPH all the time and drag racing from light to light. It might be capable of that but don't you think it would wear it out much quicker....See MoreDbl Wall Oven - Help
Comments (6)We bought a Whirlpool earlier this year. A couple hours after installation we told our salesman it was going back: the cooling fan was too loud. Really, really loud. We gave it a couple weeks to see if we'd get used to it (we didn't), or if a new fan would help (it didn't), and if GWers had any recs (they did!). We exchanged it and a few $$ for a Bosch, the lower-end 300 series with convection on the top only. We are very happy with it. We know we are missing out on some features, but we don't miss them, and it suits our cooking, our ears, and our budget. Search GW for your model numbers, and see what advice you find!...See More36in cooktop w/ double oven or 48in cooktopsw/ oven underneath?
Comments (3)Love having my ovens at a better viewable and reachable height. I think I love even more having the drawer space right under our rangetop for pots and pans. And I don't miss the hot oven in front of my legs while I'm cooking. Do you cook alone or might someone bake while someone else cooks at the stove? Much nicer not to have the baker trying to get into the oven while someone is tending pots at the stove that can happen with a range or any ovens installed under a cooktop. ...So I vote having the cooktop and ovens separate. It depends a lot on whether you have room in your layout for the full-height appliance, and can do without the 30" of counter space....See More48" range w/double ovens?
Comments (9)It depends on what options and how powerful burners you get that will determine how many CFM you need. Any pro-style range with grill will require at least 1200cfm. I have a 36" Capital Culinarian with 6 burners and I have a 1400cfm blower. And I don't think it is overkill. Either 36" range plus speed oven or 48" range with double ovens will serve your needs. Most people find they use their smaller oven much more than their big oven. But you don't want to spend major bucks and not have the capacity to host parties/holiday events. I got a 24" wall oven in addition to my 36" range oven. I would be damned to spend so much on kitchen reno and appliances only to have a $79 toaster oven from Costco be my main oven. For me the layout and size of the room would largely determine which option I would choose. Does the 36" look a bit small or does the 48" overpower the room?...See MoreJen S
