It's been 4 years since my last update and 8 years since we installed our Viking Professional appliance package, all purchased under the new at the time Middleby. I am happy to report that aside from some of the minor problems reported above, all of which were taken care of under warranty, we have not experienced any issues with our gas range, exhaust hood, dishwasher, and combi oven. All have performed flawlessly. The only other issue that we experienced was earlier this year with the freezer of our Viking Professional built-in refrigerator accumulating ice at the bottom of the freezer and eventually that ice would melt and leak out. Being out of warranty, I personally replaced the thermostat, very easy, as well as hung a copper wire off the defroster down into the drain hole which leads to the drain pan underneath and we have not had a problem since. After further research, this is not an uncommon problem across various brands and in particular with bottom freezers of similar design. I can honestly say, we have been very happy with our Viking Professional appliances to include the service received over the last 8 yrs. I said we would be the guinea pig buying this appliance package shortly after Middleby acquired Viking and I am glad we did. Middleby promised to improve the quality and customer service experience and based on our experience I can attest that they delivered on that promise. I will continue to update this thread throughout our ownership experience to better document the long-term reliability of our Viking appliances.

bump bump According to other information I've gleaned on this forum, perhaps this is made by Broan? There doesn't seem to be a Broan model that matches up to this one though, so it's kinda hard to tell....

We have the Viking Designer Series double wall ovens (model #ded0275ss) - they are about 4 years old. Overall, we've been pretty happy with them. I love to bake and for the most part, haven't had any trouble. The ovens do seem to "cycle" the temp up and down a lot - was told this is normal for these ovens. The thing I find inexcusable on ovens of this "quality"/price, is the lettering - it rubs off very easily. We don't use harsh chemicals to clean; in fact, you can just scrape the lettering off with a fingernail. I was in an appliance showroom recently and was told they are now etching the letters/numbers instead of screening them. So, I think this wouldn't be an issue for you if you're getting a new model (but I'd double check first!). Bottom line - if I were to do it all over again, I probably would not buy the Viking. We're about to start our renovation, and will likely keep the ovens since they are relatively new and want to save $$ where we can. But the whole lettering thing just irritates me to no end! I currently have the Monogram Wall oven (since Oct 2015) with the single pull down door but my new build (ready Nov 2018) will have the French door style. The oven is awesome now and can only expect great things from the newer model. Pairing with the Monogram Advantium 240V and warming drawer as I have now. Considered moving the Advantium below the wall oven for ease of operation with the doors but all the literature advises that it cannot be done. The photo is off my current configuration. The only change in my new2 build will be the French door configuration on the oven. Counter level would have been better but the doors are easy to open ...even one -handed as opening one side only allows the other door to open itself. :) Third world problem....LOL
