GROUND UP TO U: (vs. in-ground) Since 1980: about 7,ooo btuh [separately in a ditch] in damp clay as described below can be extracted from 52-deg earth with every 500 ft of 3/4" Poly-Black tubing and circulated easily [up to 5-3/4" pipe runs with a header to 1.1/4"] hdpe pipe 160 psi thicker sdr-9 www.geothermal-pipe.com www.flowcenterproducts.com on one 1) 1/6 hp (B&G pl 33) if the loop is ~ 35 degrees (chilled) by/on www.hydro-temp.com (ARKANSAS) a heat-pump, having ~ 18% methanol antifreeze by volume ~20% glycol, for usable(net) output per the following: if at a depth of ~6-to-7ft, lower piping runs (back-in-bottom-of-ditch-tightly-packed) x ditch length of 245 ft, up to 3-pipes in 2ft ditch and on the bottom of the ditch, up to 5 piping runs (2 ditches) on 1) pump 1/6hp damp clay soil, and returns back in same ditch as follows: RETURNS are on top at a depth of ~5ft (4.1/2 settles to 5ft in backfilling~) like a 'hair-pin over under design on side view... each ditch may support a "2-TON" Hydro-Temp, which is equal to others' 2.2/2-"ton" rated units that use higher than normal blower speeds, or water:water with over pumping to just get "high" ratings... LOOK at COMPRESSOR labels: they should have a 19,000-24,000 btuh compressor IF VERY WET, 52-DEG SUPPORTS A 30,OOO COMPRESSOR IN THAT DESCRIBED DITCH FOR RATINGS @ "3.0-TONS" YOU GET ONLY ~85% OF ANY COMPRESSOR ON ~34-DEG LOOPS... Directly GeoLoops : ECL's (Earth Coupled Loops) are generally producing only ~ 4,200 btuh at 40-degrees/avg and high volumes of ~ 3.1/2 gpm per 3/4"pipe and no antifreeze keeping things obove 38-degrees (ie @ 37 entering ECL, from loads applied/ with or without a heat pump... )

Paula, I can't believe you had to go to work in this mess. Well, yes I can, because it is the FAA after all. You be careful out driving in this and especially walking on the parking lots and sidewalks! So many people are falling and breaking bones and stuff. Tracy, I'm just across the river from Gainesville and while I-35 is a mess, Gainesville itself is basically fine. As far as I know, their power has remained on more or less and they only had 3-4" of snow. Some people on the Texas side of the Red River have had minor rolling blackouts where the power is out for about 15 minutes at a time about once every couple of hours, but I think that all occurred yesterday and not today, and I don't even know if the affected area included Gainesville. I know it included a lot of the D-FW metroplex. DH drives through Gainesville on his way to work and thought Gainesville seemed fine once you get away from the low-lying river valley area along the highway where all the traffic problems are occurring. If you want to see the Gainesville news, you can go to KXII.com or visit the webpage of the Gainesville newspaper, which I've linked below. Most of the "bad news" (other than travelers rolling over on or sliding off of I-35) locally seems to be coming more from the Sherman and Denison area than from the Ardmore, Marietta, and Gainesville area, if that is any consolation. Maybe your friends are down in Fort Worth for the Stock Show? I'm sorry to hear the cold has hit your plants so hard. It doesn't seem fair that the cold would hit y'all that hard after you already had to endure all the summer heat. Hang in there and when your DH finishes his degree, y'all can move back here where the weather is more normal. Well, OK, not exactly normal, but you know what I mean. Dawn Here is a link that might be useful: Gainesville Daily Register

LOL! Sounds real familiar to me. We have been RVing since 1996. Lately Dean doesn't want to drive it. It's alot of work. Yes, we've had the Awning come unraveled. We've had steps knocked off twice. A broken Jack. Two blowouts at different times. One that cut the propane line. (We both smoke.) I prefer to stay were there is electric and cable. LOL! Real Camping. But, we do park at the Lake with Senior Discount of $9.00 a night. Can't beat that. A two week stay for $126.00. Makes it worth while to do all the loading and unloading.

Well your situation is rather unique, but in the terms of the warranty from manufacturer, the burden of proof still would fall on you. Homebuilders are not known for providing warranties / registering equipment --- there are a slew of home builder problems on this board. Some HVAC related, with many others completely different problems. I doubt the GC put it in his name because this would require work on his part, his name probably appeared there because he was the one who bought the machine from the manufacturer. Homebuilders 'typically' do not register the equipment, they are more interested in going off to the next build. They build, it's what they do. How do I know this? Because had he registered it in his name the warranty would be 10 years and not 5. If the equipment is not 'officially' registered there is no record of who 'owns' it, except of course who bought it. Equipment made these days have codes built in as to knowing the day and in some cases the hour in which the machine came off the assembly line. Without registration the manufacture allows up to 90 days beyond the date in which the machine came off the production line. So Mr./Mrs. home owner comes along buys a new home... wow everything is new, looks great. No worries everything is 'new'. You have a life so you don't concern yourself with things that 'could' go wrong. Like documentation of equipment warranties and things like that. As I said above, right - wrong or indifferent this is the way things work in this realm. (you don't have to like it, I didn't make up any of these rules -- I am not a homebuilder. I am the one who comes in and corrects homebuilder mistakes. I am not paid by the homebuilder -- I am paid by YOU. The homeowner.) It is up to you, the home owner to 'make sure' everything is to your liking. Including the name in which is on the contract specifying who owns the equipment at your home. Equipment warranties can be expensive for a manufacturer, there's paper work processing to validate that the warranty is credible or not, there's hacks out there that are claiming warranty when in fact there is nothing wrong. So because of all this nonsense that happened in the past has put us where we are now. I don't doubt that it took you time to sort this out. But in the eyes of the manufacturer they are standing there holding the tiniest violin in the world and playing 'Comb By Ah My Lord'.
