Liquid Soap that leaves you Squeaky Clean?

I have oily, non-sensative skin & I exercise pretty vigorously each morning before I shower. I'd like to use a liquid shower soap but the ones I've tried all have some kind of moisturizer in them which leaves a slick film on my skin & increases the oiliness.

Is there a liquid shower soap that leaves the skin squeaky clean like bar soaps do? I've even considered a dilute solution of dish detergent.

I hate the feeling of moisturizers in soap, too! If you really have tough skin, I would recommend trying Bath and Body Works' "Breathe" (a citrus-scented shower gel). It leaves my skin dry and clean (actually, for me it's too dry, but then again, I have slightly cranky skin). If your skin is a little less tough, I recommend Neutrogena's Relaxing Shower and Bath Gel. It is the only thing I have ever used that leaves my skin at the perfect balance of not too dry but not too moisturized. Hope this helps!

I have the same problem, although I have dry skin.My DH loves Oil of Olay bar soap, and while I admit it does have a nice lather, I hate the feeling of any kind of "residue" on my skin when I get out of the shower. I'd just rather use a lotion for dryness; I get in the shower to get clean. I have actually used the BBW "Breathe" gel and I do like it. It has a nice light fragrance.
The other thing that comes to mind is that I noticed at my SIL's home once that she kept a bottle of antibacterial liquid hand soap in the shower because it's what her young grandson liked; I tried it and was pleasantly surprised that my skin felt clean but not too dry.

Neutregena and Dove have liquid bath that is not drying. Oil of Olay is also good and non-drying. Wal-Mart Equate brand is good. I use Dove, Neutregena or Oil of Olay in cold weather and Equate in the summer. Dove has liquid soap with grains in it that you might like. My D-I-L had some and I used it by mistake and was surprised it had grains in it. I have not tried it since. Not sure what it was called. I use the regular Dove. I use the nylon net bath scrubbies, works great for most of the body. The liquid really foams up. Works on a washcloth also but does not foam as much. In case you are interested, the Equate hand liquid works well and does not leave hands slick feeling like some of the other brands. I hate trying to rinse the slick feeling off.

You thinking of this thread by chance? There's a bunch of different recipes for laundry soap but they're all similar. Some prefer a powder detergent while others prefer the liquid/gel. Some add OxiClean, some add Cascade or similar to get some enzymes in there for an added boost, some add vinegar, some have added Calgon or other softener, although Borax will help soften the water.

OJ, if you put your soap there, there could be quite a combination of aromas! I won't go into detail! :) "Bar at sink ... bar on tub." Typical OJ.... always hanging out at the "bars". Wildchild, yes I know about the thoughts about potential bacteria and I use several containers. When one is done it's washed out and dried, then refilled. An occasional bleach rinse in there to sanitize it. (Yeah, I'll risk the world imploding and my house flooding from using bleach! ;)) One point, the value of it, watch your bar soap too. Many suggest opening them up and let them dry out to last longer. Not sure if it's a moisture in there or what but they claim the bars will last longer if you do. Can't confirm or deny since the last bar of soap I bought was Fels Naptha to try out on laundry stains. And there's controversy out there about antibacterial soaps. Some think we're killing off too many germs and bacteria. I used to think that was paranoia, but I'm starting to think there could be some truth to that. Looking at how Norway has essentially obliterated MRSA and how many times I see the "pristine" homes have sick people in them where someone who isn't afraid of a little dust does fine, it makes me wonder if there isn't some truth to that theory. I guess I aim to keep my home clean enough to be healthy, and not try to be sterile, unless I'm doing surgery!

Ok its been a few days so I can give more opinions on Dove baby. By the way I also bought the lotion. I love the soap, it doesn't leave a feeling on my skin like some moisturizing soaps do including Dove White, but does leave it very smooth, soft, and supple...the scent left on the skin is extremely light. Pat you might like this soap. The lotion I do not like not at all except for the very light almost no fragrance. It leaves a very sticky feel, even into the next day its sticky. However I have an area below my elbow about the area of an egg that's very dry, red, itchy, and sore..I'm a leaner so I tend to put my elbow area on my knees and lean forward a lot anyway I've been using this lotion several times a day for 3 days now on that area...I can still see a pinkish area, but its now smooth and the itch is gone as is the iirritating pain so I'd say it did a great job on a problem area. I will not use this as an all over lotion but will use it for problem areas...I'd suggest you try it Pat. Chip my 8yo has some eczema around both ankles, I've used the soap and lotion on him since Thursday applying the lotion to the eczema areas 3 times a day..the eczema is not cleared up, but well on its way. Just for this alone its a keeper. I haven't ask Amiee today for her thoughts yet. Tim my 9yo wouldn't use lotion for love or money lol, I should probably insist as its part of healthy skin care. so in a nutshell the soap is lovely and the lotion great only for problem areas.

Try baby wash. I use it all the time for washing my face. When I go on trips, it's my shampoo and body wash too.

I though of two for you to avoid. Oil of Olay, as mentioned above, always seems to leave a residue (ick!) and so does Aveeno.

A liquid glycerine soap would be better than dish soap. I think the dish soap would be too harsh for you. Pears now makes a body wash which is available at Walgreens. If there is a Trader Joe's near you they also have liquid glycerine soap. Whole Foods or a health food store would also have some such as Dr. Bonner's.

I've used Suave clarifying shampoo as a shower wash. It's inexpensive and works on my hair as well.

I've been using Alpha Hydrox body wash for years. Light fresh scent, no residue. I can't find it in local drug stores these days so I've started buying it online.

Good ole Dial (bodywash) does it for me... I usually have to lather on lotion twice once I get out of the shower, but the slimy feeling of conditioners in my body wash irks me.
