Hope I can jump in. I'm also in the market and have three requirements: the entire grill needs to be able to hold up to salt air near the coast, it needs to have infrared main burners as an option, and it needs to be made in in America (when spending this kind of money it sure better be supporting American jobs). Fire Magic is made in the US and has a good warranty but was not readily apparent if it offers IR. Lynx covers the first two but their website does not list where they are made. FB announced a CA factory 23 hours ago. I just messaged them on FB and they confirmed all of their grills are made in the USA - and that they now need to update their website. So aside from Lynx, does anyone have additional suggestions for rust adverse, IR, and US made? Thanks.

I wanted to share my latest range news. Sears approved a complete refund of my GEPBG975 and I bought an electrolux wavecontrol free standing range.(I wish I didn't have to have freestanding..but not enough money to gut my kitchen.) The switchover was today. I had to wait an extra 2 weeks as Sears had to order it. So far it looks like it has all the features of GE, but a few more bells and whistles, including more programing possibilities and very nice smooth sliding racks and a broiler pan and extra rack to be used with the pan for convection roasting. I like the rapid preheat and the instruction book is terrific and not made of newsprint.Also comes with a sturdy "quicklist" that is nice to put near the range while I'm learning the controls. I spoke to Electrolux beforehand...they sent me a cd to give me andvance instructions on how it works. A CD was also included with the range. It seems like a much sturdier and better made appliance than the GE. I like the center burner being an actual medium burner, rather than the oblong style of the Ge. The griddle can be used either as a grill or flat griddle on the left burners. I doubt I'll use that. One of the things I've noticed right away is that there is not that initial startup odor from the burners or the oven when the gas is first turned on. (Like gas logs.)I had that every time with the GE So,initially I give it a favorable report. I'll be doing a lot of cooking in the next few weeks, including making jelly, and will report back. I'm hoping for the best. It is wonderful not to be "shopping" anymore. Oh, the gasket seal seems very tight and the knobs aren't hot, (warm when the stove is on for a while, but that is expected.) Spiderrico... I've been wrestling with this decision as well for the better part of the last half year. I just last week ordered the same solution as kkcooks (I think) - a Wolf all-gas with the charbroiler. In the end, I decided to go with an infrared grill, which narrowed it down to the new Monogram, Wolf, and Capital. The high heat capacity was just too good to pass up - cooking on an infrared grill was the closest I could come to the outdoor charcoal experience. Of those three, I think any of the three would have been excellent ranges. Ultimately, it was the burner design, overall design and "fit and finish", reputation for service, identical btu of the other four burners, and local availability that pushed the Wolf to the top. If you can, go cook on the stoves, or at least see them in action. That helped us quite a bit with the final decision. It was because of the demos that a Bluestar, even with the u-shaped grill burner tube, actually remained in the running for quite a while, because we loved the 22k burners. I would have discounted it out of hand because of it's lack of infrared grill. Good luck with your decision! I got a Blaze 40" 5 burners built-in 2 years ago, because that was the cheapest 40" 5 burners one can buy for under $2k with a decent lifetime warranty. check it out, save yourself ~4k, price has gone up now, it was $1599 when I got it.
