This isn't "techinically" an annual. You can (in most climates) plant it outside. It is (I think?) Campanula portenschlagiana...... I grew one once and planted outside but it didn't make it through the winter. Did badly in summer though...... I think it didn't like the heat. It's not "terribly" sturdy. But you could (after flowering indoors) plant outside in a "sheltered" but well drained spot and see (not scorching sun) what happens. :)

Hello all! Thanks for the quick replies! Usually I buy starter plants, but last year I decided to start my own indoors. If memory serves I started them in late February and transplanted them outdoors at the end of April, so I doubt the soil was 75 degrees yet, although we do leave black plastic over the soil over the winter and spring to warm it up sooner. I'm also suspicious that there aren't enough nutrients in the soil. I add compost every year and water them with a little Miracle-Gro every so often instead of plain water, but my family has used these veg beds ever since I was a kid and I think we may have exhausted the soil by this point (we do rotate the location of the various plants, however). Any thoughts on that? Can it be redeemed? I bought a soil test kit so when it warms up outside, I'll give it a whirl. I sympathize with naturegirl, I hate to pinch off or thin anything either, I feel like a bad mother! But this year I will have to close my eyes and do it. If nothing else I can try it on half the plants and use the others as a "control group". I'm in Baltimore so it's Zone 6/7ish, I'm never quite sure because on every zone map that I see, it's right in the middle! But last frost is usually mid April, and dependably by the end of April for sure.

Do you plan to grow these outside? If so, wrap those pots up with duct tape and get them outside and start hardening off, then transplant to a muck bigger container. The yellow spots could be from overwatering, but could also be a Magnesium deficiency. Are there MICROnutrients in that fertilizer? Plants look great otherwise. They just need to get outside. Google hardening off if you don't know how. Stop watering everyday from here on out. Peppers like to dry out between waterings. A good way to tell if they need water is to stick a wooden skewer a few inches deep into the soil. If soil comes out on the skewer, don't water. If no soil, water thoroughly. Let dry out completely before watering again. Kevin

thanks, rebeccamom. The marble is Calacatta marble from AKDO. It held up pretty well although there were a few scratches from my kids tracking sand and a handful of etches on the floor. This was the main bath and only tub for a family of four -- my kids had a smaller bath with a shower but they are toddlers and never used the shower. For maintenance, we squeegeed the shower after every use which got old. I doubt I'd do marble again in a shower. Maybe white subway with marble in the niches or as accents, but not marble on the floor or walls of the shower. The wall color is BM Light Pewter.
