I vote for a miele - the way it is configured, the cutlery is always sparkling!! All the silverware fits. The large serving spoons, spatulas etc fit on the side in a flat area. A gravy ladle will fit but not a big soup ladle. I'm very happy. I have almost all miele appliances and am most impressed with the dishwasher. I have a DIVA induction cooktop, and love it.

A couple large soup ladles, along with very long and large serving spoons, cutting knives and forks, and large spatulas and mixing spoons fit in our Bosch SHE68E15UC cutlery tray even with a full assortment of regular silverware.

You might think the KA cutlery tray is too close to the top of the dishwasher. I thought that, too, in regard to the Bosch. But the space between the center of the tray and the inside top approaches 3". Are you sure the KA has too little room for your serving spoons, ladles, etc?

The cutlery trays typically do angle closer to the top at as your approach the sides of the dishwasher. This is to give additional room for the stems of tall wine glasses which are positioned on the middle tray (which itself can be raised and lowered on either or both sides to accommodate really tall items on that tray.)

One thing you'll really appreciate about the cutlery tray (on any model) is the additional space gained on the bottom tray. This extra space is great for pots and pans, or casserole dishes and covers.

I just bought the KA KUDE60 for $1059 and the KUDE030 for $699.The Miele I wanted was $1399. Since I was buying all new appliances and 2 DW I didn't feel I could justify the extra money at this time. If I needed a DW only I probably woud have splurged on the Miele. I can fit cookie sheets in both KA DW. The racks are adjustable also so it gives a lot of options. I only got it yesterday so have done 1 light load. I tried the Bosch and it seemed smaller inside. Also I wanted the heat dry option. Just what I am used to. With doing 1 load only so far I like the KA. I did most of my research on this forum. The Miele seems to be the favorite. I like the cultry tray but it also has the baskets if you prefer. It also has a small basket in the bottom corner for larger pieces like the ladle. I haven't had the issue yet where somethiung doesn't fit.

The difference between the Miele and the others is that you won't be replacing it in 4 years!!... We've had ours for 5 years now with zero service calls. It does a fantastic job cleaning, and the cutlery tray is awesome. No, you can't put ladles up there, but spatulas, etc. Miele was first to patent the cutlery tray.
The extra money up front is big money saved in the long run with no headaches if properly installed. My sister/law has had her Miele (the most basic style)
for over 10 years with not one service call.

I have a KA KUDE60 w/ cutlery rack. LOVE it! I've removed the silverware basket on the bottom rack, opening up space for larger items. Besides silverware in the top rack, I've put serving spoons, spatulas, shallow measuring cups and tiny bowls. I looked at Bosch but it wasn't for me. Too small, not a lot of options for tine configuration and the placement of my items I brought along just didn't fit. And now I'm reading lots of complaints about them. Originally, my first choice was KA so I went back to that and am very happy with decision :) Hope this picture helps. These two items both fit in the cutlery rack.

Mieles have a fold-down rack on each side of the middle shelf. That's where my ladles and some large servings spoons go -- anything too thick to nest in the center of the cutlery. They stay on just great and wash perfectly.

I splurged for the Miele. I also bought the Miele 36" induction and that was way more money. If you look at the price difference between Miele and Kitchen Aid, it is only a few hundred dollars. My KA needed the computer repaired every few months. My Miele has been perfect. Just go for the Miele, you won't be sorry.
