Continue with the air! If your pond is healthy again (check ammonia since there were dead fish) I would put the koi back in if there's plenty of oxygen. Often, the stress of being in a smaller tubby tends to do them in. Foam on the water is usually a sign of protien, either from spawning, or the skin slime of dead koi (or anything dead, like frogs, etc) Get some healthy bacteria and add it to the pond as well, to get everything back to a healthy balance.

I agree it is hard to believe. It is not_true that steam passes through a condenser coil, since that implies all or most steam. It IS true that a small small fractional amount of steam gets into a condenser device (which can look like a coil), where it condenses into water, drains into a hose, which then can be left UNconnected to anything. So, wa8b, the way you've rephrased it is almost exactly as many manufacturers support people have said it over the phone, although they also say it is not much H2O at all, not much at all, and I believe them as they say that almost all the H2O condenses inside_the_tub, and I believe them too. Your phrasing may be misleading (to yourself or to others) as the steam does NOT_all pass through a condenser coil, no. Very little gets into this condenser ("coil"). A small small amount of vapor will come out of the tub and into the vent if your unit is equipped with one. The vent is the focus here. The vent is open at the end of the wash cycle to let Some Steam escape into a condensation device. Its purpose is not to pull the steam through a condensing coil nor to vent all the steam into the air. This (fractional) portion of condensate that goes into the small device at the vent does not go back inside the tub. According to the manufacturers I have contacted. -- Where does this small amount of H2O go next? -- How much is it? These have been my questions that I have asked in many places for many weeks. Where this "vent condensation exhaust tube" goes to is an interesting subject. This tube can be called a drain. Drain. Calling it a drain tube or "a drain" does not mean it is connected to the machine's one and only drain tube that goes into the house drain (the main drain, the plumbing drain.) Using this minor confusion some companies have allowed many salespeople to get confused and to start saying "it goes into the drain." Which means to them that it goes into the plumbing drain. In many cases they are wrong. ________________________________ Summary: Yes, some condensate (not much) is allowed "... to evaporate into some ... area outside the..." (tub), and yes it can drain or evaporate in an "...area surrounded by cabinetry..." So, yes I am concerned enough to want to know what will happen when I buy my next DW now for my upcoming new kitchen reno now. Yes, the bulk of the water condenses on the tub and drips down into the sump area; it slides down the tub walls and goes into the sump where it's pumped out through the machine's drain hose. So at the end of a cycle most of the water is inside the tub, either in the sump area, or clinging to racks and interior surfaces. About "the further study that is being done" = further study means further examination by my eyeballs and my persistent questioning. I hope to have a little more feedback from people before I name names. Bear with me. This is caution. I have take pictures and can post them later. Well, Miele it ain't. We have now run 3 loads in it and each time there has been something that has to be rewashed. One time we had residual grease on plastics from a load that had a sautee pan in it with a bit of cooking residue (not rinsed - in the Miele we didn't have to.) This was not a pan that had bacon fried in it with lots of grease, just a regular sautee with some olive oil and butter, and not a lot of it. This morning we had dishes with steak juices baked onto them, rather than washed off. No overcrowding, plates just lined up nicely in their tines. Each has close to an inch between it. Steak juice is not exactly hard to wash off...(that said the Miele sometimes struggled with residual "char" from grilled food. But this was juice, not char.) I guess we now go back to the old way where everything has to be rinsed before it goes in. Blah. That said, glassware looks good. It does a nice job on that. At this point, I do not recommend these solely on cleaning, but my comparison is to Miele so keep that in mind. DH wants us to run pots and pans cycle all the time hoping that will do a better job, but I don't want my dishes to get damaged from the extreme conditions. The model we have is DWT25500SS. My other comments on it are that it is hard to load, as mentioned above by another poster. It does not hold as much as the Miele. In that, I could get in the whole day's dishes (with all 4 of us home) as well as pots and pans from dinner. This one I can get the dishes in, maybe one pot. This model has the cutlery tray and it is very small and does not hold the flatware straight. The little grooves are kind of shallow. The manual says the tray is small so you can put it directly into your silverware drawer, but then you'd need two of the trays to manage loading up again. It really does not hold much so I've started using it for small lids, the pizza cutter, etc that don't fit in the flatware basket. As for our pricing, they got a lot of them in for Black Friday or whatever event. So the price was reduced (list is $1049 or similar). We then got $50 knocked off for picking it up ourselves. They also let us drop off our Miele there for disposal. Funny that we spent about 1200 for our awesome Miele nearly 13 years ago and that felt like A LOT of money. We will stick with this now as long as it doesn't break. We are on a countdown to listing our house in the spring, so a $2K+ dishwasher to replace our Incognito is not in the cards. Next kitchen, we'll get a Miele again after we recover from moving LOL. And if it's of interest to anyone, we live in an area with soft water (snowmelt is the primary source) and we use Cascade Complete powder and Finish rinse aid. This has been our "combo" for years.

As I type the microwave is in use. I wanted a vintage style kitchen, with the MW convenient to the fridge, as it had always been. Since most of my kitchen was done with salvaged finds, I used an old cabinet door, which I lined with some left-over aluminum flashing. I don't have a lot of landing space on that side of the stove, so the door can double as landing space for either the fridge or stove. I had to downsize to a smaller MW to fit the box, and I was careful to leave recommended clearances on side and top, and open ventilation on both sides in the back. In addition, there are 'breathing holes' drilled in the shelf above. Before it was painted the final color, kitchen in progress: How it fits under the upper cab (with fancy-schmancy power strip attached. ;) Painted, with upper cabinet enclosed. The painted wooden bar on the front is the handle, but also doubles as a support to keep the door level when it's open. I have similar aisle widths around the island, visible on the left, and although they're tight, it's workable. About the second sink: No kitchen I've visited IRL has a second sink. Mine is actually behind the main sink, sharing plumbing, and with a pony wall-type divide, but still convenient. And convenient it is--I use it to thaw, unwrap and rinse raw meat, because it's smaller than the main sink, and easier to clean, and no one is running water for whatever, over it. If I have a sink full of tomatoes, apples, etc, it's really nice to have the extra sink for draining hot water from canners. The coffee maker sits on that counter most of the time, keeping it out of the kitchen work areas. I just can't tell you how much I appreciate having that little sink, if someone offers to help prepare a big family meal. I can get them out of my work/cleanup area, but we still see eye-to-eye. Everyone uses his/her kitchen differently--ymmv--but if you think you might use an extra sink in the future, it will be easier to plan for it now.
