Is anyone else having problem with pests too?
Comments (24)rhizo_1, "Are you promoting this product without even trying it first?" Your implication that I am promoting the product is false. And I never said I tried it first. Deb mentioned that her container garden was covered with aphids, and I suggested that she might want to try the Bug Blaster. It was just a suggestion and not a promotion. "Are you selling it via one of the HVH private home parties?" Your implication that I am selling something is false. Your implication that I am associated with Hidden Valley Hibiscus is also false. I am in no way associated with Hidden Valley Hibiscus and I am in no way associated with Bug Blaster. I don't know anything about any HVH private home parties. And I am not selling anything. "Be careful, this appears to be the worst kind of spam." I am not doing any kind of spam. I was merely bringing a water spraying device to the attention of Deb that I thought she might not be aware of, and that she might possibly be interested in. I was merely providing information and I was not trying to make a sale. I don't stand to benefit in any way from this. I was merely trying to do a good deed by taking the time and effort to supply links that might be relevant and interesting to Deb. Perhaps you were also attempting to do a good deed by jumping in to protect Deb from the big bad TV pitchman. But to me, your false implications come off as mean spirited and this feels like another instance of "No good deed shall go unpunished." ZM...See MoreToo impatient to wait for seeds to emerge?
Comments (5)No. I am too busy with the summer seedlings, mending the fence, new squash trellis, and finishing some mushroom logs. It is an awful spring and everything is late. You can not really expect anything uncovered to emerge before the daffodils, and here we are just starting to see a few (and indeed my uncovered arugula is up). No daffodils, no worry. Arugula will show up first, and beets will show up last....See MoreIs it just my DL's or is anyone else's late?
Comments (9)Mine seem to be on schedule, plus I had that crazy early bloom on Paper Butterfly and an early bloom on Sink Into Your Eyes, two types of stella are just now blooming, super stella, and the regular stella, which is just about the normal time for here. I have tons of scapes, and everyday I come home there are at least a dozen or more showing scapes. I have had the heat ( 90s ) and lots of rain that would come down quickly. I also used fish emulsion as a fertilizer just last week, and I had used Milorganite early in the spring, don't know if either one of those things helped things along. I like to think that they do. cindy...See MoreDoes anyone else just not bother with a pantry?
Comments (39)What do I store in our pantry? Extra flour, sugar, etc - baking supplies. Extra canned stuff - we don't use a whole lot of it, but some canned stuff, like tomato sauce, is useful. Packaged soups. Cereal (my dh eats cornflakes every morning). Paper products - TP and paper towels. Extra cleaning supplies. We have an extra freezer - I freeze fruit and veggies - we grow a lot and I also buy it at the farm stands.I plan on starting to freeze milk this year. I prefer to freeze stuff rather than can it, so the freezer gets used! I'll be using our pantry/utility room storage more when we move to our new house since we'll be farther to affordable grocery stores than we were when we lived in our old house. When I go to the city, I'll mostly get stuff when it's on sale - buy 3 extra bags of flour if I see it at a great price, for instance. I also store extra kitchen equipment in the pantry - I have a food dehydrator that I store there, also canning supplies (I *do* can jelly). The pantry is my warehouse, I guess! I keep daily supplies in the kitchen, when we're running low on baking powder (for instance), I grab another can from the pantry, where I probably have at least 3 more cans - that I got on sale - stored. We don't have a pantry right now. It's temporary, thankfully....See Moreakcorcoran
