Samsung Quattro

Hi

I'm new to this forum but have read it for years. I have been looking at the Samsung Quattro fridge and have read everything I can find on it and want to buy one. I just wondering if anyone has any updates on their satisfaction with it. I can't seem to find anything else I like as well. Well maybe a subzero but don't want to pay that much.

I just happened to see this at Lowes last night. It was on sale from 2500 to 1600 because it is being discontinued. I thought about purchasing but decided to go with the standard FD (more space)

Does anyone know how the Quattro compares to the Samsung FD in terms of available frig and freezer space? I like the FD but prefer the handles on the Quattro. I wish the FD came with the Pro Style handles. Will the warranty be the same? vegas t... was the price on the Quattro for a floor model or factory shipped?

Hello all, My wife and I ordered a Maytag Ice2O FD fridge a month or so ago (for a very good price), but were never really thrilled with how the fridge looked - don't like the appearance of the ice/water dispenser. What we did like was the freezer drawers. We loved that the drawers are not wire baskets, and that they both come out when the freezer is opened. After hearing of many problems with the circuit boards on the Ice2O, we diceided to look into other brands. As our other appliances will be mostly GE, we were looking at some GE FD fridges. The PFSS6PKWSS seemed to be the best of the bunch, including the new models with 2 separate freezer drawers. We noticed that on some of the fridges, the deli drawer smacks right into the french doors if the doors are not completely open (which we will not be able to do due to a wall on one side of the fridge). The PFSS6PKWSS has a deli drawer that opens up with the french doors open 90 degrees, but my wife was upset that the shelves did not pull forward like on the Ice2O. We knew that Samsung makes the PFSS6PKWSS for GE, and found the Samsung RF267AARS at a Best Buy to look at. We verified that the interiors are exactly the same, except for clear plastic bins on the french doors (they are white on the GE). After pretty much deciding to stick with the Ice2O because of the pull-out shelves, we happened to tug on one of the Samsung fridge shelves and voila! It slid forward, a few inches farther than the Ice2O shelves even! I think we have decided to go ahead and cancel our Ice2O order, and go with the Samsung RF267AARS. So, you Samsung owners out there, how have the fridges been working, how quiet are they, and do you had any complaints about them? Thanks for any replies.

I love my cheapo Kenmore! I bought it last year after thoroughly researching and subsequently giving up on all the fancy brands. OK, it doesn't look very chic, but I have to admit it hasn't let me down - the temperature always seems to be perfect and my food is actually staying fresh alot longer than any other refrigerator I've had. It's quiet. The storage space has turned out to be convenient and flexible (unlike many of the more expensive refrigerators I looked at). It doesn't use a lot of energy. It cost around $600 and is a little over 18 cu ft. I bought it to replace an almost identical whirlpool that I had for 3 years before that one died an early death, and every day I'm happily surprised at how much better this refrigerator is in all respects.

We also very recently installed an Asko W6863 on the second floor of an old home (2x10 solid wood floor joists). We had our builder install a concrete shower pan underneath with a drain in the bottom, and we tiled the small laundry room. Vibration is not a problem - I was pretty impressed with the Asko suspension. If you peruse their website you will see that each of their 24" units have the "quattro suspension," which I presume is the Asko version of a vibration dampening system. We also considered the Samsung but didn't buy it because of the depth required. It is a touch louder than I expected it to be when the spin hits 1600, but it is well worth it in my opinion -- the clothes come out just a touch damp, and dry very quickly.

I got a Samsung Quatro last summer before we finalized any kitchen remodeling plans, and have not regretted it in the least. If it died today, I would get another one. I have never had a dedicated freezer and I like the freezer space as well as the flexible use of the bottom two drawers. The right one-under the refrigerator door- I use for breads, cookies and anything I will use in a few days on soft freeze. The left side is all freezer. I have never used the power freeze. We don't use the ice or water in the door. I took out all the removable parts for more freezer space. The unit has been trouble-free. It holds whatever temp is set. I also like the drawers. They are a good size and nothing gets lost. The only caution I can think okf is that a frozen pizza box doesn't fit. The frozen pizza fits if it is taken out of the box. I have a small dorm fridge-freezer that holds a pizza box. I also keep all the drinks (except milk) in the dorm fridge. There are just two of us at home, now. I am not sure there would be enough room for a big family. It just depends on what kinds of foods you eat and need stored. Good luck! HTH, Judy

I saw one at Lowe's for roughly the same sale price recently on clearance. Are these being discontinued? They are still on the Samsung website.

I have had a Samsung Quatro for about 6 months, and practically kiss the doors every day. I do not have any other freezer. I love it because of the flexible temperature settings on the two bottom drawers and the ease of using the bottom drawers. I wanted a bottom drawer freezer, but the single bottom drawer designs were difficult to see everything and accessibility was terrible. I removed all the automatic ice making stuff from the inside; I don't want to use the water and ice in the door.

The refrigerator has adequate space for our needs, keeps things at the right temperature. There is good accessibility, enough storage in the door for milk, several juice cartons.

Remodelfla that is the price until they are gone, not just the floor model. I thought it was kind of odd that they are being discontinued since they are relatively new.

I really liked that you could convert the bottoms to freezer or frig BUT after talking with the sales lady she did confirm that the FD have more usable space.

I like that you can do deli trays, sheet cakes, pizza boxes etc in the FD and you definately do not have that option with the quattro without alot of manuvering.

I agree with you on the handles but after looking at frig after frig I still went with the Samsung FD. I like the water dispenser inside. I definately did not want water/ice in the door.

I just purchased it today at Best Buy for 1529.00 (10% off sale) and 18 months free financing...couldnt beat it

My local lowes also is closing them out but only has the stainless look one, I just can't bring myself to like it as much as the stainless one. The price for the stainless look at lowes was 1399 so a very good price very tempting. Best buy also has some closeouts but it is a different model a rm255 and seems everyone else is a rm257 not sure of the difference they claim the rm257 is a new model that just came out. So what do people have a 255 or a 257? I have a 5 year old amanna bottom freezer that works so not in a big hurry, its just never worked right or the ice maker worked right since new so its going to the garage. So far the Quattro is the only one I have found that I like at a reasonable price.

I'm considering a closeout Quattro from Best Buy. Wisconsinguy, did you decide to buy one? Also considering the Samsung FD RF265 from Best Buy? Vegas t (or anyone else) can you confirm that the Best Buy 265 has an inside water dispenser -- same as the 266 from Lowes? Appreciate any comments on either the Quattro or 265/266 refrigerators?

From my understanding the 265 does not have the water dispenser inside the door, it is the 266. I have had to move to the 267 as the 266 is not available in Canada. The 267 has the through the door water and ice. I would have prefered the 266, but at least the ice dispenser in the Samsung is smaller than the other makes I have seen and it has a foldup shelf if you have some tall items

The closeout is the older model. I purchased it at Bestbuy for about $1200 and added warranty. The newer model has different handles.

This is the model that I purchased and yes it does have the little water dispenser on the inside.

Can anyone who recently purchased the Samsung RF265AARS french door model from Best Buy verify that this model has an internal water dispenser
