On again-Off again power plant...

A proposed 1,230 megawatt electric power plant, to be constructed on the shore of Lake Michigan, at Oak Creek, Wisconsin, has been put on hold by Dane County Circuit Judge David Flanagan. The plans had been previously approved by the Wisconsin Public Service Commission. The new plant was designed to burn coal, despite widespread and persistent reports of mercury contamination in fish taken from both lakes and rivers in Wisconsin.

Wisconsin Energies, the owner of the proposed plant, considered and rejected coal gassification technology, during the design phase.
