salamander eggs?

At first when I found these today in an empty flower pot containing only leaves & ice, I thought fish eggs, how the heck? Then thought maybe they were insect eggs of some sort. Was just googling and think maybe salamander? If so I hope I didnt kill any..I used a lil fish tank from a now deceased beta. Put wet leaves on the bottom, a lid from a jar with some water in it, and the eggs (someattached to leaves)in the lid. Do you think they will have a chance? I left the tank on my unheated enclosed back porch so it's safe from critters. heres 2 pix from when I first discovered them this afternoon.

Do you think they are salamanders? I figured I'd better put them in the water since they were on/in melting ice when I found them..but I feel like I'm drowning them.

If not salamanders what else can they be besides frogs (which I have none of in my yard :( )

thanks,

Daniella
