Taylor, im Not sure a Southern Live Oak will make it in Northern Missouri ..way way out of their zone. I am in SW Missouri and like a zone 6b-7a and no way. i have Quartz Mountain and Texas live oaks growing for many years but they are Quercus Fusiformis. Never Plant a live oak in the fall, they need planted in the spring to get some root growth to keep them drawing up warm water to help then withstand the cold. I have almost the same thing on one of my trails now,To give you some backround,Box"A" was up ,dees moved in and layed eggs,Then I saw a Tree swallow checking the box,so I put up Box "B" 10-15 feet away for the Tree Swallow knowing that they will nest in a paired box.Well the Tree Swallow does not show up again.The dees eggs hatch,5 nestlings.We get some wind a rain for a few days after.I monitor the dees box,only 3 nestlings,not sure what happened(bad weather or Wren) I let things be.2-3 days later only 2 chicks.About 1 week later I see a House Wren on Box "B" singing,adding sticks,I remove sticks every day for 4-5 days.The whole time the dees are defending Box "A" very good.Well today was fledge day for the dees.I go monitor the boxes from a distance,I see dees and House Wren hanging around,As I look closer I see a Tree Swallow peeking out of Box "B" and he is not budging.The Wrens are going nuts.A few hours later ,I again monitor from a distance,I do not see the dees ,today is day 16 (Fledged) for them.Now the the Wren have moved over to Box "A".The Tree Swallows remained in the entrance of Box"B" for the rest of the day,only leaving for very short times.So,Should I continue to deter the wrens,or should I expect these two to get along OK since the boxes are so close. The home at 5489 Ahyoka Dr. has 5,500 square feet after the 2005 makeover, WGCL CBS46 reported. Well something just does not add up here. The ad says it was built in 2005 and has 1,549 sq ft. It's presently for sale by someone for $950K. I've often wonder how the recipients of the makeovers were ever able to afford heating, cooling, taxes, and insurance on the bigger much improved homes. I'm sure all those things would be considerably more than they were when it was just a small humble abode. Be prepared for a traffic jam starting about 3:00 pm on the street where a lot of the dinner theaters are. Everyone is mulling over which parking lot to pull into and when they get to the entrance, they find the lot full and the entrance jammed with autos trying to get out onto the street which is clogged with non-moving cars. That's the main problem with Branson. The town's father has done nothing to help traffic flow, so traffic overwhelms the little village street. Other than that, Branson can be a lot of fun.
