Well, I used to use my first name - Thomas - for an Internet user name, but when I first registered on eBay some years ago, it was already taken. Since I went to eBay specifically to buy Victorian watercolor paintings, I added "wc" to my first name.

My name is Louann, I go by Lou to family and close friends. When my husband and I were dating, his roomate dubbed me "The Louster", and ever since, that has been my husband's nickname for me.

Childhood nickname. I had a lot to do w/ very little time to do it in, at least that's what I am told. My Mom still says that if there had been drugs when I was a kid, I would have been on them.......Of course there were and I wasn't, but I did start kindergarden @ 4 yrs, she mutters something about trying to save my life, gettin' a kinda glassy eyed look about her, lol.......hmmmm............... I graduated @ just turned 17 so that's not so bad......... ;o)

My dad gave me this nickname a long time ago when I was a little kid and got in trouble for being such a tomboy. I used it again in my hiking clubs, why not gardening as well?

(little mountain goat, gets in trouble, always playing in the dirt, going down rocky slopes too fast, always trying to eat them greens, likes to sleep on the rocks too....yes that is me)

I have bad soil here and do everything in containers. I used to call it the "Bucket Farm". But selected Containerted recently and will continue that for a while.

I picked mine since I love to be on rivers and streams or in the forest. Since I work in these places I get lots of chances to be "naturegirl" while teaching others about the great outdoors.....plus at my age it is kinda funny to choose a name with "girl" in it.

The garden is actually one of the more civilized places I frequent....though if I don't get on top of the weed situation soon it will be a wild place, also!

I happened to be getting my first email address when my hair was coming back in after having had chemotherapy. I had the most beautiful curls anyone could ever ask for. I could wash it, finger comb it, and it was perfect.

I've since then lost most of the curl, but besides chemocurl being my email addy, it is my member name everywhere on line.

My nic started when I lived in Carmel Valley so "danincv" probably gives you a clue to my first name. In all of the gardening forums I've joined since moving to Prunedale you'll find a "daninpd".

First, nobody in the real world calls me bigdaddy. When I started at GW my son was real small. A bed time story went something like this where my son would say to me:

"Big Daddy Big Daddy, let me in".

And I'd answer, "Not by the hair on my chinny chin chin".

That must have been the day I first joined GW I suppose...:)

First initial, middle initial, and last name. Dull, but whenever I sign up for something using that name, nobody else has it taken.

Smile. This is a fun thread! I always use either Snooky or Sudzy. I was heavily into doing my (and others) genealogy a few years ago, and learned that both these names were nicknames for Susan in the 1700/1800's.

reaverg was the email I was given at college. Five digits of my last name (Reaves) then my first and middle initials, R and G.

I got Crohns disease, then was diagnosed with MS. Someone emailed me an hysterically funny cartoon picture to give me encouragement. It was a stork in a pond trying to swallow a frog head first. The frogs front legs were sticking out of the storks mouth and it's hands had the stork by the throat. The caption read "Never Ever Give Up".

Sorry my description doesn't begin to give the cartoon justice. Wish I was allowed to post it. If your humor is as twisted as mine, I know it would crack you up.

It is even more appropriate handle for me now that I am battling Breast Cancer. Not looking for sympathy. I am not the one that needs it, because I AM THE FROG.

I am sorry to read of others misfortune and I hope things turn better for all. I really like these non-gardening threads. It helps us to get to each other better. My story is a long and complicated one but here goes. I took my alias from my dogs moniker and added my lucky number. I was married on the 13th of the month. The date I was married adding all the numbers together and dividing by 2 is 13. Whoa. I also need order in my life now and gardening I found has done that. Whoa again. Happy Gardening. Aloha.
