Bishop's Weed, goutweed, aegopodium YUK

I hope it works for you but...I know that aegopodium will eventually grow right through landscape cloth and mulch. It is a heck of a mess second season trying to remove landscape cloth that has plants growing right through it. One method that has worked for me was cutting the goutweed back to soil level and waiting for the new shoots to appear. Once you have 1 to 2 inches of growth apply a weed spray like round-up or the organic variety that is comprised of cider vinegar. If the goutweed is amongst other plants a paint brush works well. Good luck.

YUK!!! gurgling sound and sewer gas smell
Q
Comments (11)
I had sewer gas smell in my house. It was VERY bad in cold weather at night. The cause was roots growing in my outbound sewer line before the pipe meets the main sewer at the street. First plumber put camera down toilet pipe. He saw roots in the line. The plumber put the snake down the toilet and removed a lot of roots from the pipe going from the toilet to the street. The sewer gas smell is completely gone after that. Afterwards I put copper sulfate down the toilet to retard future root growth. You can buy copper sulfate at a hardware store. First the snake has to be put down the toilet to cut and remove roots that have gotten into the pipe.

Woodrich brightner ,oxalic base with a buffer, with what we call a scrub n rub I use a hand brush like you can buy at the supermarket put on some gloves splash the stuff on and scrub. This would be for the rail system and the skirting. Add the brightner to the water not the water to the brightner. Water wash it all off with a garden sprayer, All of it. Remember your not trying to remove the finish just the crud the wash effect will happen on contact even tho you wont see it. For the deck itself I use a 14'' floor machine with a scrub pad stuck on this goes very quickley. If you cant find one of those use a handled deck brush finish off the corners with the hand brush. Be tidie around the alum balusters thay are power coated but just be carefull. Sand with an orbital sander 60 grit pads where needed if the little sharp whiskers come up. The covered area will always be in different shape then the rest nothing to do about that. Woodrich was crafted from twp nither need stripping just another coat after cleaning I advise two coats using the sprit of a sound mind , that is waiting for the first one to set up, and another come late spring. after trying a test area first. And Dont Wait so long for a recoat!!!!!!!!!!! Ghesssssssss. J.

Hi all - I was wondering where everyone is this fine Friday evening! Eloise - what you described abour your son is exactly what is going on with my knee. Surgery helped - hmmm. All I know is that it really hurts every once in a while. That's what was floating around and shifting to the wrong place a few weeks ago when I wanted to cut my knee off (from the pain). JYG - how are ya holding up, Kid?

Make sure there is someone around to let you out (I have heard of people actually gettin' stuck in their freezers before....must have been trying this exact same thing. huh?
Fun....oh boy!! :o)

They messed up the 2000 election, I reckon there are a few who've tried that "Gee, what's it feel like to be in snow?" experiment.

You know what Luis....this was actually a "Thunder Snow". Was thundering while it was snowing....kind of weird actually.
Was heavy with power outages (mine was out for 4 hours...brrrrr).

Your dogs don't look too broke up about it. LOL!
I don't envy you one bit. I moved from Missouri about 17 years ago and now only like to "visit" winter. We'll be visiting winter by skiing this year. The warmth in Texas sort of throws off the feel of Christmas, but I got over it pretty quick.
Take care, looks like that snow will be gone soon.

It's always blasphemy to say this to anyone in the north but we LOVE it when it snows here in Georgia! Then again, we have a real advantage - the entire area where it snowed shuts down and it's a whopping big holiday. Much hot chocolate and good books, fires in the fireplace (hopefully), wild artistic attempts at snow sculpture when there is enough snow, etc.
A few years back we had a nasty storm (quit laughing, it was bad for us :) come up and it caused a phenomenal problem on I-75 with cars off the road, motels booked to the gills, resturants running out of food ... we just aren't set up for anything like that with no snowplows or salt, etc. Very bad scene.

actually, i love it when it snows, as long as i don't have to work or do anything. not that i am technically "north"
the woods are the most beautiful after a snow.

Fairy, is Illinois not north? It's north of SOMETHING, I'm sure..I'm really lucky, since I work at a school - so if it snows hard, I ACTUALLY GET THE DAY OFF!!! How cool is that. Five times last year! Those are the best days of the winter. Especially with all that stuff Ging was mentioning. Yes, Ging, I think I remember that storm, it was all over our news, and of course we were laughin' and laughin'... We ourselves are in a good spot, the town's emergency center is down the road from us, so we are never without electricity for more than an hour or so.

All the same, the woodstove is loaded, ready for the match, just in case...
