jannd, I should have given the information I usually give with the picture. In most, if not all, species of the birds of prey, the female is larger then the male. Sharpie males are about 10"- females 14". Cooper's males are 14"- females 21". A 14" male Coop is the same size as a 14" female Sharpie. The side by side picture is made from pictures on the same fence with one picture manipulated to make the board the same width as the other. That makes the birds to scale to one another. As you can see, they are for all practical purposes, the same size. The real size difference is between the male Sharpie and a female Coop. We hope to get a picture of them on the fence for a side by side of all 4. Hope this is of help, Bob

LOL on the falcon attacking the plastic owl! Hawk Mountain Sanctuary's famous North Lookout (the site of the official autumn hawkwatch) has a pole with a fake owl placed on it to purposely lure some of the migrating raptors in for a closer look. And dive-bomb it they do! I've seen Am. Kestrels, merlins, sharp-shinned hawks, and even a red-tailed hawk take a whack at it! Great-horned owls are indeed ememies of falcons and will prey on their young if they get a chance. Do you know what kind of falcon it was?

Unfortunatly, that sort of thing doesn't seem to bring much or even sell well on eBay. do search for completed auctions and there is a lot that never even gets one bid. I think it's darling! But you would need to find a tea pot collector to pay what it's worth. If you want to sell it I would look for a consignment shop. It looks like a $65 tea pot to me...but realistically you will be very lucky to get $25. Linda C

The 2nd one looks like a Plectranthus. I don't know which species turns red in tons of sun, maybe neochilius. Are you able to add a closer pic of the bloom? The first one gave me a Plectranthus vibe too, but could be something in Crassulaceae. Is it fuzzy?
