Walked outside to put my dog out in the morning.

Heard some crow racket, and what sounded like a crane or water bird, like a gutteral, watery gagagaga gagaagagaaa

I expected to see a heron or something - altough I am not an expert on herons/cranes, I have seen the like flying across this field, and ithis noise reminde me of that one.

Anyway... looked up, and saw a very large raptor! Dark with a straight-ish tail flying over the field with a few crows harrasing him/her.

It was definatly the raptor making the guteral noise, it was not that loud, soft compared to the crows' call I did not have my binoculars, but I could tell that the bird looked very dark all around, and it had a longer, straighter tail than a red tail, and the tail was dark.

It could have had some lighter patches on the underside, but I am not saying it did, it may have, too hard to see, all I know is the 'dorsal' side was dark.

Any ideas?
