Can you detect a click from the solenoid below the carb when you turn the key to on? If not, check for another chewed wire and a blown fuse. Has the machine been run at all this spring? If you unhook the kill wire will it run? Was the engine run w/ the mouse nest?

The canary bird from Hortico looks more like what I'm looking for than the Rosa Xanthina Spontanea from other sources (more like Hugonis?) as it is a brighter yellow, compared to a more cream-yellow from other sources. Might the last Saturday in April work? I will be going to Sherando Roses to pick up a number of roses (before Randall retires in June); would you like for me to pick up a rose from there for you at that time? I don't believe his website presently works, but there is cached information available for selection. Or perhaps a certain purple gallica-centifolia cross I will be picking up at that time (if you'd care for a cutting of it)? I don't think he presently lists it as presently available....

Hi Denis, seems I'm not the only nightowl here :-) My parcel came from Renaat (my facebook hosta friend). He's the one with the specials. I know not many of the ones he is recommending, but they are always beautiful. Will get another order from him near fall... Finally I have my Jade Cascade :-) and some other very nice plants came along with it...it will be interesting to watch Setsurei and Doctor Fu Manchu grow, but what am I saying? It is interesting with all of them, old and new in the collection...I spend more time in the garden than ever. Only the weather could be nicer...one sunny day a week is not enough, for plants and me both... Yesterday I had to repot a lot of plants because I discovered that the coconut earth I used last year was not good to make the potting mix fit for hostas. It clumped together with the growmix and the poor things started to die away. But I think I came just in time to save them. This is a long journey of learning how to grow and then, if you think you know all, mother nature knows better...:-) Hope you have meanwhile better weather out there? Pampered Peeps, Danica Poul is an odd one that was a gift to me from a Danish Nursery who I had spent quite a lot of money with. On first sight it looks as if it may be infected with HVX. It has been tested many times and come back negative. In spring each vein is a darker green than the surrounding tissue. As the year progresses it all darkens to the same colour. It is fertile but I haven't found a seedling yet that carries this trait. Here is a better leaf shot from 2016 Plant next to Delta Dawn is Heatwave. Dave
