Awesome! My Lurline must have the record for longest to root. When I got it on summer of 2011 it had a few scrawny roots. I dug it up in October of 2012 and it still had very few roots. I thought it was dead, now it's putting out tiny claws, still no roots. I prick it and no latex flows. I have no clue what it is doing. I was about to throw it away when I thought I saw a tiny hair like root so I left it laying in mulch in the garage. Now the tiny claws... I just do not know what to do with her. I put it in a bag with some soil and set her on the top of the water heater. Sheesh.... I wish she would just either grow or die. I know that sounds horrible but I am tired of messing with her but can't bare to discard her as long as she shows some sign of life. :(

So let me get this straight: your vet says that the cat "must have eaten a skink". In other words, no one actually SAW the cat eat anything, let alone a completely harmless lizard. The vet is making an assumption, in that case, NOT a real diagnoses. Vets are doctors. They make mistakes, and in some cases, they make guesses when they don't know what has happened. Skinks are harmless; they are not toxic in way, shape or form. Your cat's symptoms are consistent with an organophospate poison, something I've seen myself many times, since I live in an agricultural area where these chemicals are common, and commonly misused to kill animals, unfortunately. People still put out a deadly organophosphate called Temick, even though it's been banned, to kill animals, and all a cat has to do is walk across it and lick its feet. Eating a lizard will make a cat throw up, often, since scales are irritating to the esophagus(all the more reasons to keep cats indoors), but no lizard in North America is "poisonous", that is, toxic if ingested. YOU might not have used the product, but that doesn't mean that someone in your neighborhood didn't, and having seen Temick poisoning first-hand, the symtoms that your cat displayed are typical. I'm sorry about your cat, but I know a lot more about reptiles than your vet does, and he is wrong to blame a harmless lizard.

Pink: It is my understanding that bleach is dead in around that length of time?? For years people added it to the washer as it filled and it was in the water the whole wash cycle, especially when using a wringer machine. That way after washing whites in it, then you could continue on with colors with no harm. Mitch: I would like to know what your problem is with me? I don't think I have said anything to you not that I can remember, but a lot of the post I comment on you have to come back at me in a rude way. You may be smarter than I am,(or think so) but what you are telling me how to do, I have already done a lot more than you. Like the carpet cleaning with the detergent, vinegar rinse. You couldn't wait to tell me and everyone else how wrong I was. I have used detergent, have used different steam cleaner brand detergents, have used pro maid cleaning service product they use and I haven't ruined my carpet yet. It is off white and 22 years old (Older than you) and it still looks almost as good as when it was installed. The vinegar rinse came from Martha Stewart and I have tried skipping it and it makes a big difference, the vinegar rinses it cleaner and No it hasnt ruined the pad that I know of. Doesn't feel like I am walking on hard floor so it has to still be together. About the bleach and cold water, if it doesn't work in cold why is that the only temp they let packing plants use to clean floors, machines? I said use the cold in the socks because hot would probably set that color in them. I'm not pushing for cold water washing full time either. I'm not going to keep defending what I write here. I am 40 years older than you so I just bet I have washed LOTS more clothes than you and cleaned a lot more carpet and so far I haven't destroyed any floors or got a germ from unclean laundry, or destroyed any washing machines. Again, I have nothing against you, just tired of seeming like the target. Pink: I am no more afraid of ruining elastic with Clorox than I would be all the boiling water you use--and No I am not having a problem with you, just saying. Trust me, Mama, you need that washer NOW not tomorrow. The drum light comes on when you open the door and off after a few seconds or when you turn off the washer. Yes, you have two buttons - one turns on and off the washer and the other one starts the cycle. You can press the cycle start and turn on the washer but you might not be able to open the door if the washer is on. There are some safety features about when you can and can't just open the door so don't jerk on it when you think the laundry is finished, especially if you have the Fan Fresh option on. After all these years, I still forget once in awhile that the washer door lock is engaged while the machine is ON, even if it doesn't seem to be doing anything at the moment, lol. It's smarter than me, thank God. I can see some Herculean guy rip the door off because he thinks it's stuck.
