Hi everyone, hope you are having a stress-free thursday. I received my box today from vina and what a great box it is. sorry my grandbabe wasn't here when i opened it, because i can tell right now the things she will claim!!!!! the story i chose was "little chicks big day". in the story book the little chick watched a dragonfly zig zag through the sunshine and watched a butterfly sip from a morning glory. to that end, i received white morning glory seeds. i also received a mother chick and baby chick statute, who are the "stars of the show". a sweet little frog plant sitter (pond buddy) and a mini picnic basket filled with seeds. (i know my g-babe will covet this most adorable basket). and since no farm is complete without plants, i received: hens and chicks!!!! hollyhock carnival carousel mix purple coopers ice plant snow crocus mix columbine william guiness and blue mist shrub and last but not least, a bag of hershey kisses for strength!!!! VINA...GREAT BOX. i absolutely love everything about it. well put together, well wrapped and i love all the little notes thanks so much, i appreciate these plants for years to come and will enjoy reading the story to my granddaughter. what a great theme for swap, heidi. this was a lot of fun. beth.....i am waiting on one more thing. i had hoped it would have come today but since the mailman came and went, it did not. i will mail on time though and i will let you know when i return from the post office! thanks again maryanne

You are adorable to even remember. I kept the dented frig. I thought about spending money on a new one, thought about skins, thought about replacing just the door and... Someone made a comment. I can not remember who but it was something like. "what is the big deal?" And I realized that there are other things in my life more important than to care about a dented frig. This is an object and not a human. Humans are far more important in my life. I still have the silly magnet my best friend gave me ages ago. It says "The shortest distance between two people is a laugh." This reminds me of what is important. Will I ever get a new refrig? Maybe but the reason won't be becasue of the dent. The dent has a purpose reminding me life is bigger than a blemish. That my daughter is far more important than the refrigerator. Thanks for asking. ~boxerpups

That is a wonderful story. I see nothing that would offend anyone. DH's aunt passed away after an illness. His uncle took it very hard. In six months he joined her. We said that he died from love sickness, tho he had some health problems. He just couldn't bear to live without her. They were very devoted to each other. Tami

"The Brainwashing of My Dad" is a fascinating (if poorly titled) documentary about Fox News--why it was started (to promote the Republican party) and the pervasive effect it has had on the viewing public. Somehow Fox has managed to convince its viewers that it tells them things the other networks leave out. But actually the reverse is true. The movie also discusses the radio entertainers, like Rush Limbaugh. One interesting segment is about a truck driver who always listened to Rush and his ilk while he was on the road--until one day when he happened upon NPR. He was struck by the vastly different tone and approach to the news, as well as the content, and realized how seductive the other programs were. The movie is alarming but enlightening. Amazon Prime members can watch it free. PS: The title refers to the filmmaker's father, for most of his life an easygoing, cheerful man, sympathetic to civil rights, a fun-loving father. He turned angry and distant in his later years after right-wing radio shows and Fox News became a constant in his life. I believe it started when he got a job with a long commute, and turned on the radio. I suspect a different title might have given the movie a wider audience, and that's a shame.
